Need help identifying an icon on the notification bar

    Hi! when I got my new phone the other day this icon wasn't there and it just suddenly appeared. I need help identifying the icon to find out what does it do. Thanks! 18581528_1486861188003036_699406002737177670_n (1).jpg

    Might be that or a software update notification, but that should appear in the notification tray

    Thank you! It was indeed the rotation lock. I just didn't think of it since my last phone did not have that kind of notification icon.

    That's it, I needed to enable it manually in SystemUI tuner. If it bothers OP, he could try disabling it there.

    Probably because older android versions had far less tray icons. Now there are icons for pretty much everything. The notification tray gets very cluttered very quickly these days. They tried to remedy the issue by hiding persistent notifications, but I find that that hurts more than it helps.
