The PS2 version was actually pretty good, I enjoyed it. Reviews have been saying its good but not great so perhaps its one to rent or download but I want to play it, could do with a good slasher to play.

Awesome series, I've played these games on PS2, DS & soon Wii. Everyone was highly enjoyable. Ok this game comes with the TaTaTon (the drum) but you can play without for multiplayer BUT not sure if you can play without for single player.
The game is pretty simple, you drum along to songs. Songs vary from J-Pop/Rock, video game themes (this one will have Nintendo ones!) and Western classical music.
No NA/Europe release so far but the series has been released in English as Taiko: Drum Master but so far has only come out on PS2 and to be honest, while I'd like an English translation, I would want the Japanese songs to stay, its just more fun that way. Also I'd like to thank Namco Bandai for actually releasing this game with TaTaTon instead of making it Wiimote only like most games do nowadays.

Ok I admit it I know nothing of the non-Capcom characters, but they were in cartoons.
<i>The game, according to materials released by Capcom, is the seventh instalment in the company's Vs. series, which includes the Marvel vs. Capcom and Capcom vs. SNK games. Each player will have a team of two, and players can switch their characters at any time, and even perform two special moves at the same time (which however uses up two special bars). However, large characters, such as Tatsunoko's Gold Lightan and Capcom's PTX-40A will fight on their own without a partner. Producer Ryouta Niizuma announced the inclusion of mini-games and the option for a simplified control scheme. The game has support for the Classic Controller and the Gamecube Controller as well. The buttons are listed as "Assist" "Weak" "Medium" and "Strong".
Universal mechanics are similar to the previous Marvel vs. Capcom games. Characters can call their partner to do a predefined Variable Assist attack. Characters can tag with another character, performing an attack upon entry called a Variable Attack. Performing a Variable Counter attack also lets the player tag out with another character. Snapback is an attack that forces the opponent to switch characters should it land. Hyper Variable Combination lets characters of one team perform their Hyper moves, attacks that require a stock of level, at the same time, whereas Delayed Hyper Cancellation cancels a current Hyper move of the character with another Hyper move of the character's partner. Each character has a launcher to send the opponent to the air, allowing the character to do an Aerial Rave.
There are also new universal techniques found in the game. Variable Aerial Rave lets the character switch to his or her partner while in mid-air. Mega Crash is a defensive manoeuvre that frees the character from the opponent while sacrifice a part of his or her life and two stocks of levels. Assault is an offensive variation of Mega Crash. Baroque is a mode where the character glows in rainbow color while sacrificing the red portion of the character's life - activating the mode cancels the current attack animation, allowing the player to extend combos and deal more damage relative to the amount of red life that is sacrificed. Baroque ends when the character doesn't do anything or when the character performs a Hyper move.
The large characters (Gold Lightan and PTX-40A) cannot do the universal techniques that require a partner due to their single-character limit.</i>
^Stole from wiki^
No release for the West but Capcom are looking for a way to bring it to us, the only problem is that some of the Tatsunoko characters are owned very various companies in the West (just like with JUMP). Chances are that if they do bring it out, it won't have the same content.

It was bound to happen, Nintendo have decided to "wiimake" various Gamecube games and this is the first of them. Now at first I thought they'd be quick ports but in the case of DK:JB there will be new levels, better graphics but you play it without bongos which I can't say I like the idea of.
<i>Part of Nintendo's Wii De Asobu Selection series of titles of classic Nintendo games remade for the unique control systems of the Wii, this game brings back the unique platformer Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with controls designed around the Wii Remote.
The big ape is drumming up a new beat for platformers with this unique action game. Using crazy motions with the Wii Remote, you guide Donkey Kong through wild jungle environments brimming with ravenous enemies and challenging obstacles. As you "drum" your way through diverse stages ranging from lush jungles to floating jelly in the sky, you will battle enormous beasts, collect bananas, get in boxing matches with rivals and even ride animals and vehicles in a jungle gone wild!</i>
This version you use the analogue stick on the nunchuck, and make him jump with the A button. The game does uses the wiimote for a few moves, including punching at enemies and performing fancier jumps. So thsi time its more of a traditional platformer, its said to play better than when you use d-pad on the GC version but I prefer to use bongos. made it more fun. Still should be a good game. This will be released under the "Play it on Wii" moniker in the West sometime next year.

The PS2 version was actually pretty good, I enjoyed it. Reviews have been saying its good but not great so perhaps its one to rent or download but I want to play it, could do with a good slasher to play.

The DS game has been out for a couple of weeks, that one is actually a port of this game which is actually developed by Puzzle Quest makers
<i>Neopets Puzzle Adventure offers an in-depth and exciting storyline full of puzzle-based gameplay set in the world of Neopets. The game offers pick up and play gameplay, new never-before-seen areas in the Neopets universe to explore, and the opportunity to redeem codes for exclusive virtual items at the Neopets website.
The game board itself resembles a chess board, while the gameplay takes the principles of Reversi and Go, and adds new twists that take the adventure to unexpected levels. The goal is to turn all of the chips on the board to your Neopet's color. </i>
Mmm you know this seems like something that should be on WiiWare.
