Thanks very much to all those involved. It's great knowing that the DS will never die.

Quick correction: MOST DS games do not support WPA/WPA2. DSi-enhanced games like Pokémon Black/White support it fully.
As long as you're playing them on a DSi or 3DS, at least.

Does anyone get the error code ''31020''? I tried Pokemon White (German version), while it successfully connects, when it's searching for the gift (if there is any...) it's getting disconnected...
I'm using the emulator DeSmuME (the latest nightly build 2018/10/31 - git#8944328).

(I posted my message here as well: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...cation-original-hardware-and-emulator.522676/)

Is better to just edit the sav to get a gift. There is a Windows hacking tool that works with White and Black. When it comes to White 2 and Black 2 those games are a mess.

I suggest you use a up to date flashcart and try the English version of White or Black.

The gift isn't important, I just wanted to test this method.

I tried both Pokemon Diamond and Heart Gold on my DS Lite, couldn't trade or get a Mistery Gift. Mario Kart DS does connect then disconnects when I try to find someone to race.

Does the intermediate certificate we're using from the Wii console for this exploit have an expiration date, and if it does, will it disable this hack once the certificate expires?

Mistery Gift is working for me in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Mario Kart DS still disconnects when trying to find someone to race with.

I haven't been able to make Pokemon GTS work. It crashes after I enter the stupid GTS room.

Not that I really need to trade, I have all the Pokemon I wanted already but is still annoying.

Having very little knowledge of how SSL works (let alone how the DS implements it), I wouldn't think so. The certificate will always be valid within a certain date range, right? So if something were to check it, couldn't the DS' clock just be set back? :P
(Might be annoying if you play a game where the date matters, like Animal Crossing.)

Of course, I don't even know if the DS actually checks if a certificate is expired. Someone more informed can probably chime in here, but setting my original DS (NTR-001) to the 31st of December, 2099 didn't stop Mario Kart DS from connecting.
(If we make it to 2099, let's promise to meet up and play Mario Kart DS. :D)
