Hardware NA new 3DS XL board swapping

Hi,

I wanted to know if it is possible to take a motherboard from one NA new 3DS XL and swap it with another one.

My reason being is that I have both NA launch colors, black came with 9.0 while red came with 9.4, I will be returning one tomorrow and am more interested in keeping the red.

If I'm not wrong someone already did it here on the forum with a SSB console but I may be wrong.

can cause issues with the fact the serials wouldn't match up between the consoles, i read something about someone having all their content vanish one day, they phoned nintendo who said someone had reported the console stolen and had the content transferred to a new console., and that the serial they had on their case didn't match the one they had linked to their NNID....so yeah down the line mismatched serials could cause issues

yeah its easy. i use to do it on the old xls to swap mobos into limited editions before downgrading was possible. its tricky if you dont have the right tools or patience
