Dolphin works without proper patches and still as I remember have not bad fps, but if patches arive it will be super thing.
 amazing i was getting my hopes up for n64/ps1..but gamecube and ps2 being a possibility would be absolutely unreal.

well now that i think about it my galaxy s8+ plays dolphin and damonps2 quite smoothly so the switch must be able to

If anyone wants to play N64 on Horizon OS, there's currently no emulator for it yet. But who knows? Maybe someone is working on it right now. The homebrew community can be pretty surprising.

To be brutally honest, I don't think many games on Dolphin emulator will be working full speed for a "good while". Some might however from the start but most won't, and even with full driver support.
Difference between the Switch (Tegra X1) and a Galaxy S8 (Snapdragon 835) is mainly the CPU clock speed and Dolphin emulator is unfortunately mainly CPU intensive. Your Galaxy S8 is just outright faster than a Switch. Drivers however are another story entirely..

So basically any current build or build that is no older than 2 years will probably struggle to run even on a fully unlocked X1 on the switch. It will run similar to how it handles on the Shield TV, and that unfortunately is not that decent (at the moment).

Dolphin's development has mainly gone the way of true emulation accuracy and most of the current developers on the emulator don't prioritize or even care about its development on Android or for any mobile SoC.
However, we can hope that because of the seemingly massive interest of Dolphin on the switch that some other developers jump in and help to optimize code for the X1 and even sacrifice some unneeded accuracy for more speed similar to how there was work done on Mupen64 "Wii64" (N64 emulator) that was ported from Windows to the Wii to make it run a fair amount of games.

We can also hope that the Chinese Shield TV's Gamecube/Wii Emulator is eventually ported and then we might be able to inject our games into this emulator similar to what is done on VC titles.

Exciting times ahead indeed!

I even got PSP to work on Nintendo Switch.
Just get Lakka and install it to an SD Card.

N64 and PS1 also works with 60fps.

PSP on Lakka just barely works, it still needs sound, and some tweaks to the emulation to get it just right as it can run a little to fast sometimes which for someone like myself who plays Rythm games like Hatsune Miku Project Diva is just a pain as precise timing is key, it's definately running which is more then I can with N64, specifically with OoT which crashes for me when I try to load into a character file to start the game.

I wouldn't expect it anytime soon outside of Linux on the switch. Software emulation is rough even on desktops for n64. We'll need OpenGL before we'll be able to port the mupen and the like.

I'm sure once ogl becomes available though it won't be more than a few days before someone releases a preliminary retroarch build.
