What files did you have to move? I just realized that I must have deleted SD files on the target system when performing the system transfer and I'm not running into the same "failure opening sd files" when trying to donwgrade 10.4.

I don't know how I missed the option!
I just took out the target SD card out and put in my card from the O3DS. Worked right away. Still have no idea what happened with the dgTool, it just started working after a bunch of restarts.

Aiee, my target card is a microsd and the source card is a regular sd. AND I just did a sysNAND restore on the source system to get it back to normal.

Is there any way around this without starting the whole process again in a week?

The system restore process is strange. I don't even remember being prompted whether or not I wanted to delete files on the target system.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with the transfer process myself and had to ask some questions on #3dshacks IRC server. If I'm not mistaken you could try doing it right away but you'll have to remove your NNID from the target console first.

Best of luck :)

As it turns out, the system transfer was fine. The fact that I could load DGTool without a problem was proof. The error was caused by me putting the downgraded bin files in the incorrect path on my SD card. Corrected the error, tried again, worked fine!

edit: By the way, should I delete the compromised DSiWare title from my target system now that the downgrade worked? I read in Plailect's guide that PlaiSysUpdater has a better chance of "soft bricking" a system if DSiWare software is installed.

Maybe I should do a format instead? Will that work properly after the downgrade?

edit edit: I formatted. Figured it wouldn't break anything.

After rebooting 5 million times and moving files here and there I'm finally running 11.0 with Luma :D

I'm getting the same error using dgtool on my new 3ds 11.0.1. Failure opening sd files. I have tried with the files in the dgtool dir and also with the files in the root dir and I get the error everytime. Can you tell me how you fixed it.

Normally, I wouldn't be using this method but I am using the 2 system method and the dsiware hack to downgrade a new system and it's my only software option available. This error is driving me nuts.

Thanks,
Jeffrey

I still have no idea what was wrong with it but it just worked after multiple resets. Make sure you've downloaded the correct files, that's all I can say. Especially if you're migrating from o3DS to n3DS

If you have any other questions shoot them here :)

What is the correct path because I am having the same problem.

I'm running into this issue right now, but on 11.2. I also had my target system say it ran into an error after the transfer, but everything looks good and the DSiWare title loads, so I should be good, right? Not many people in the thread commented on how they fixed their particular issue. Like what is the correct path for the files to be in? Or what is the latest version of the program? Am I not using the right one? How do I update dgTool?
