So I'm just about done with the A9LH installation from here: https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax

I'm at the part where you install the HBL cia. I installed the cia and tried to run it. I got the "error with software" message, but I could not fix the HBL. Eventually, I just installed Soundhax again, but once I did that, if my SD card is in 3ds during boot, the 3ds brings me to the black screen. The only ways I won't get a black screen are by holding SELECT without the Sd in to boot into the Luma config menu, or just booting 3ds without sd normally. I tried updating luma, but that did not do anything. I have to insert my sd after the 3ds is on, but even stuff like exiting the Settings apl brings me to the black screen. I can't get into hourglass9 by holding Start on boot, so I can't finish the tutorial

I'm on 11.3

Edit: I eventually figured out that it kept crashing at HBL because I had the overclock thing in the Luma menu enabled, which messes with the HB on 11.3...
I still have this black screen sd issue, though

your sd card might be corrupted. i would suggest getting a small 4 gig sd card (like the one that came with your 3ds) and just drag and drop all your files onto the new sd card

You might be right about the corrupted theory because now when I try to copy files into another directory, it says copying, but 0 out of 0 bytes and never copies...

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
