Homebrew N3DS 9.9-026U Update

My 3DS is on ver 9.9 and I don't think I can do browserhax (because the update message comes up), but I have a sky3ds blue button with ninjhax installed. I am waiting for HANS update so I can play the translated MHX patch on my ds. My question is if I update to the latest firmware, will that affect this? Should I stay on 9.9 or update? Also what homebrew apps are recommended that I install besides the ones that are in the starter pack? Thanks

since you seem to be on a New 3DS, you can get around the browser block.

your firmware shouldn't matter if you're using HANS.

I thought MHX didn't work on blue button Sky3DS due to the ap check, or has there been something about Hans getting updated to bypass it that I missed?
