Homebrew N3ds 9.9.026U Question

Hey i just bought a n3ds and it came with 9.9.026u fw, i have been reading around and it seems like my only options are to find a outrageously priced cubic ninja game, buy sky3ds for 87+ dollars or risk bricking the console with sysupdater and some kind of other entrypoint like browserhax or menuhax. I've tried loading the files onto the microsd card and trying the browserhax exploit but it seems the 9.9 fw is locking the browser out from working. Any step by step tutorial or video tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

Ok i got it to hbl doing what you said and tried installing menuhax 2.2 but im getting this error...

You need to go to to your home menu themes and let it create extdata on your sd card before you can install menuhax, as menuhax needs this to function. Make sure wifi is off before you do this as you will get blocked out of the browser if you don't.

Ok i successfully updated to 10.3 following your guys' steps thanks for the help, now on my way to downgrade to 9.2!

Setup CFW from there and arm9lh if you want.

im in the same boat as you were just bought my n3dsxl U, and it is on firmware 9.9 how do i update it to 10.3 does the sysupdater/safesysupdater downloads the file? ill be going for the 9.9 to 10.3 then 9.2 path

I'll pm you the files I used to get to 10.3 and then 9.2 also got to setup dns which I'll also provide. When I get home I'll send them to you.

I'd recommend against using safesysupdater. It apparently causes more bricks over just using sysupdater.

Yeah I read into that as well and just went with the sys updater on the tutorial, both upgrading and downgrading went smoothly for me just make sure your using the correct n3ds full update cia's.

Are all of the cias in a directory named "updates" on the root of your SD card?

no bro root/updates/cia files it is lookinh for the xxxxxxxx21000.cia file inside the folder. i checked it and the file i dpwnloaded from 3dsiso site named n3ds10.3.28-u doesnt have it. ok since youre all saying that i just need to use the vanilla sysupdater then ill go for it, but iwanted to check the file intrgrity and its content and what if safesysupdater is right about my missing file

ok ill wait for you i tried the 3dnus firmware downloader and the file that is missing is ther. can't risk a 200$ brick

Only reason i attempted this was cuz i knew i could just take it back to Walmart for an exchange and do it all over again, just bought the 3ds on Friday and i didnt throw the receipt away like i usually do lol

dude thanks a lot i almost shat bricks i tried using the sysupdater at first it says cia file cant verify or something and i did the ftbrony spam B to ext and then gone to sysupdater and the screen just blacked out i thought it is bricked, did you experience any trouble? and can you also pm me the sysupdater you've used? just to calm my mind since you've done this succesfully
