Hacking N3ds 8.1j should I update

I have a n3ds on 8.1j and have been using gateway with 9.5 emunand since support has come out. I want to have the option to use rx-tools and CFW with my n3ds so should i update to a higher firmware from say zelda Majora's Mask which is 9.4j and wait for 9.3+ support or just stay at 8.1. Thanks

Gateway announced support for 10.3 users, there has been downgraders poping out yesterday too.

You could update to 10.3 and then downgrade to 9.2 or wait for official gateway support in 10.3 and you'll still have access to CFW.

But ultimately that's a choice you have to take on your own since it's your system.

Don't ask people "what should you do", depending on who you ask the answer changes, ask yourself what do you want to do.

the downgraders i heard are not safe for use as of yet correct? I just wanted to ask in case there is another option instead of upgrading

I have updated to 10.3.0.28J and have installed broswerhax and menuhax but everytime I start Sysupdater I don't see the ARM11 kernal exploit with #1 to #8. I just see update downgrade and exit then when I press downgrade it gets the CIA info but then errors out main.cpp:148 Result: 0xD900182F I then reboot and try again. I have still yet to downgrade I downloaded everything correctly and deleted that cia file for JAP N3ds
