Hacking N-Card VS R4DS

bummer..

Heh I got R4 and got my girlfriend NCard, the problem is whenever she picks a wrong save type, save will evaporate. She just lost her Ouendan 2 save with Cheergirls hidden perfect S on half dozen songs
Whenever new games come out I can just grab it and stick it in my TF and it'll work. For her she has to figure out what the save type is. Maybe I should have switched hers and mine, but NCard sure freezes less.

Unless your girlfriend is as knowledgable in doctors, you'll have to maintain -firmware and savetype list- her NCard as well.

...Do you need to manually change the savetype of a game every time you start it, or does it keep it in memory once it's entered?

it keeps in the memory once you enter it. Also you can download the latest save file so you dont have to pick the saves for everything.

What happens if *I* change the save type on mine, then boot the game.

"Error Accessing save file, Please turn off the DS, remove and Re-insert the card, and restart"

I reboot, and change the save-type back...

Game boots and keeps save.

You're girlfriend screwed up somehow.

sometimes you dont get that error. I was playing brothers and arms there and the game said saving without an error on flash 2 mbit however i turned it off no save game. I always save at the first point you can in a game then turn it off and back on to make sure its the right save type.

Strange. Ouendan 2 never complained about wrong save type, it evaporates saves whenever type mismatches.

Actually I'm curious how games have "can't save" messages, when most people (people who bought the game) won't be able to make the game save with wrong save type anyway.

So far I've experienced save evaporate with Pokemon Diamond and OTO2. Don't think any other games had problems. Pokemon save evaporated once, I updated her firmware to 1.23 and since then no problem. And OTO2, in an hour or so after save evaporates, she can beat everything and go back to playing Cheer Girls on hidden.

She screwed up nothing besides choosing a wrong save type after saving properly with correct save type. I know this because I lost her save once because I didn't notice the save type was changed back to unknown after putting in a new game. And when I changed it back to correct type and re-ran the game the save was gone. Before that it saved properly because I did it myself and checked 4 times to confirm it saves and doesn't disappear.

Anyway, I'm updating hers to DS Linker 1.39 firmware hopefully save evaporates less frequently
