here is the damage to my screen. I warped that corner trying to pry off the screen. The piece that cracked off is presumably as a result. At first it was just a crack, I noticed it was cracked so I tried to see if that piece was loose, and it came off. (the piece is sitting in the midfle of screen in the first picture) These things may be the reason the screen doesn't work, rather than the ribbon cable connector. I do not know for certain.

The screen actually doesn't look that bad and is probably ok. Even if it was broken in the viewing area it would light up and show lines, etc. across it. I'm sure the problem is still the connecter.

Wow dude. You're right again. Thanks to you I tried again and I got the screen to work. However the screen is messed up now. The image is a bit fuzzy and there's a black line between each row of pixels.

In the meantime I inserted a disc, the system failed to read it.

I think I'll leave the system as it is, wouldn't want to make things even worse. I'll try out another game disc or two to make sure. After that I will just stuff it away somewhere or consider selling it.

By the way, the batteries of the 2000 and 3000 are interchangeable right? (or the same) So maybe I will switch the battery with my 2000. No reason to waste the better battery on the system that is broken..

Can i ask a silly and unhelpful question? Why attempt a risky procedure when literally every PSP is hackable and game for the PSP is payable with cfw on a memory stick? Not to mention it cuts loading into fractions instead the umd loading?
