Hacking My R4 has a weird screen and doesnt load roms anymore

Im in dire need of some help.i tried to update my R4,i deleted everything,formatted the micro SD card and downloaded and transferred the latst firmware (English 1.18) now the R4 just shows "R4 revolution for DS" on the top screen and "R4 revolution for DS" and "!!!" and a load of japanese(?) writing and won't load.any help would be appreciated.

I've tried versions 1.15 to 1.18 and still no joy.is this a common problem with old versions of the R4 or something?anyone else had this problem?

Did you format your microSD card with a compatible filesystem? I'm not sure what the R4 supports, but try to make sure it's either FAT16 or FAT32.

No, it's a drive format.

Step1: Backup all your data. Put everything that is on your card to a safe place on your computer
Step2: My computer
Step3: Right Click your R4 MicroSD
Step4: select "format"
Step5: click the drop down menu that says Fat in it. Also: FAT=FAT16 and vice versa
Step6: format, MAKE SURE YOU BACKED UP ALL DATA
Step7: After the format, put all your data back on the card.
Step8: It should work.

Try using the Chinese kenal.

yes the chinese kernel worked and its up and running again,thank you all so much for your help
