Hacking My PS3/PS4 controllers aren't working

Tried them both on mario party 4 in nintendon't and I cannot press start or do anything. What am I doing wrong?

Did you download the controller file required to use the controller? Did you enable hid devices in the settings?

Yeah I did,and I didn't realize the official thread until after I posted this.

Are they plugged in via USB?

Yeah,it's plugged into the console.
