Hardware My amiibo figurine will not read

Today, I got my amiibo figurine (Lottie from the AC series), and when I try to scan it, it doesn't show up. The menu when you try to register says the NFC reader is connected, but when I try to tap my amiibo, it doesn't scan? I think it might be a defect since I bought it sealed. Please help.

Does the NFC reader work with other amiibo, and are the batteries in it good? From my experiences, the NFC reader will sometimes not scan because of low battery levels even when it's not showing the red light to indicate that. You could also try updating the NFC reader firmware from the amiibo settings, if you haven't tried that yet.

Nope, only one, tech here (especially Nintendo) is scarce, I could buy from another country but, it costs like 50$ and 50$ here is reaaaaly expensive.
