help me please.

after my sister borrowed my 3ds it won't go to cfw anymore. just black screen if you try to run cfw.
i don't know why and i'm not sure what's happening but i notice that the title manager is gone .
i think my sister accidentally deleted the title manager and some other games.
because some game was gone also the title manager.
could be this the cause of everything?

my friend made my 3ds to cfw
so i don't really know what to do now
please help guys!

I wanted to vote for Gateway. Why no gateway option?

Maybe your friend that installed the cfw can help you out, he seems to know more about it than you do.

The title manager my vanish from your home menu after clicking it(outside of the cfw) and restarting the 3ds. It may still be installed. (behaving similar to installing region locked cias they show a white square after booting that then disapears). Tis will be fixed after sarting pasta again. You could update pasta(or replace pastas files on the sd maybe something corrupted randomly) and see if that solves the problem.

I just assumed that you use pasta silly me sorry if you don't use it. Which probably is the case

They might've opened Data Management, thus deleting your Cias. I recommend that you get your friend to redo the installation if a new launcher.dat doesn't work.

In your SD card, check your firmware version if it on 4.5 or lower

it's still 4.5 and the launcher.dat didn't work :/

i don't know where my friend is right now
i guess i have to do this on my own :(

btw my 3ds is from japan and 4.5

it seems the profile exploit still working fine but after it flashes it won't go to cfw anymore .
the upper screen was blue and the other one is black after it flashes.
does anyone have a clue what happend to my 3ds?

should i try to install the profile exploit again?
or do i really need to reinstall the cfw?

I had the same problem and what fixed it was reformatting my SD card using SDFormatter, and then putting the files back.

EDIT: Read the post below me :P

format the sd? doesn't that also mean i have to install the cfw again?
i don't have any flashcard so i think i can't do that
i know that there's a way to install a cfw without a flashcard before this case
but already tryied that one and didn't work and my friend told me that it won't work in japanese 3ds

EDIT: I'm assuming that you're using Pasta so if your emuNAND gets deleted it shouldn't matter as you're going to be booting to sysNAND to install DevMenu (via PBT-CFW).

Backup your SD on your computer, and then format it using SDFormatter using options:

Format type: FULL (OverWrite)
Format Size Adjustment: ON

Then restore your files back to the SD, and then try booting CFW.

By the way, you're kind of misinformed on how the CFW works :P you're basically installing the entrypoint (called MSET) to the 3DS. The CFW files remain on the SD, and are not installed to the NAND.

I don't think that he is using Pasta. Pasta doesn't get installed cias deleted when you enter data management (it just crashes)

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
