just curiously, which method of storing games is the better option here? I know that using multiman is a little more inconvenient because you have to open multiman - however the PKG installs seem more difficult because they involve a variable which changes depending on the game. Is there any other benefit to installing PKG ps3 games other than having it in the main menu? (Or does this also apply to multi-man and I just don't understand this whole thing properly?)

thank you.

Bruh, use Webman Mod instead :)

The *man programs traditionally used CFW folder remapping features, to spoof "JB" format (GAMES folder) disc backups as the content of a potentially different inserted disc, then (after many other intermediate steps) came Cobra-enabled CFWs which allow for mounting PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP ISOs directly from *man homebrews

Packages never needed these CFW features (in fact HAN users use packages for everything) and, as far as the console knows, they contain (usually) regular software that's supposed to install to the HDD in the first place
Hardly "more complicated", install package, install license if required, that is all

(Creating your own PS1/PS2/PSP packages IS more inconvenient than just using an iso loader, but hey you only have to do it once per game - if that's what you want in the first place)
