Well, the backup launcher reads games only with half the speed of an original disc, and it still works flawlessy. I think loading from an SDHC card would be fast enough, wouldn't it?
that would most likely depend if you sd card is sdhc or not.
only place i think it would be noticeably slower is usb cuz it's only usb 1.1 .
I'm just speculating though, this is all assuming waninkoko will be able to implement these features of course.

Mmh ... I don't believe so. You'd need years of experience to write a driver. Waninkoko isn't a hardcore hacker, he's just a clever guy without morality (according to Team Twiizers).

i hope so

Maybe the Wii is just a updated Gamecube with the things the Gamecube needed already when it came out?

I guess you just need DVDX for it

Modchip is "currently" required for gamecube backups with this as linkinworm stated.... Gamecube backups via softmod are close, all that is left to do is getting them to use proper dvd commands.
As for the usb 2.0 driver functionality it shouldn't be that hard to do, its just that no one wants to take the brick risk programming this until bootmii or an equivalent have been released.
