Gamecube discs no longer play on Wii after installing Nintendont

I tried 3 different games and they all gave disc read errors. Nintendont is playing Gamecube ISOs just fine though. Do I need to change a setting in Nintendont in order to play Gamecube discs? Or does installing Nintendont disable your Wii from playing Gamecube discs? By the way, this is the old Wii version that came with Gamecube controller ports. Any help is appreciated.

Nintendont doesn't install anything, it's just an app that you run to play original games and backups games.
Was your disc drive reading fine before? the discs are in good condition?
my guess is that your disc drive maybe needs a cleaning. do you have wii games that you can test?

It has been a while since I played Gamecube games on the Wii but they did not have any problems before. Yes, I tested Wii Sports after that and the Wii disc ran fine. I will try the disc cleaning kit and report back here. The Gamecube discs are all in excellent shape.

This is a coincidence. Nintendont doesn't touch GameCube BC, it runs in Wii mode, and like the person said it doesn't install anything. Either you did something else you didn't mention or GC discs were already not working.

Update, it is a coincidence after all. I just tested several Wii discs today and they are also giving read errors now. So it is safe to conclude the Wii disc drive is going bad. Luckily, Nintendont is working fine for the Gamecube backups. Now I need to get USB Loader GX setup for Wii backups. Thank you everyone for the helpful replies.
