Until 5.00M33-4, DarK_AleX used Sony's 3.71OFW MS Driver to enhance MS speed at its custom firmware. Then he developed his own one.

Although his patch doesn't work at 5.50GEN-B2, the 3.71 driver works fine

Don't tested it much, but Soul Calibur CSO is loading 3 seconds faster.

    Tutorial:

    Tested only at 5.50GEN-B2

PSP Phat Installation: (Thanks to th3saint)

    1- Download - Thanks again to th3saint and PoisonousMonk3y (maxconsole.net)

2- Attach the USB Cable to your PSP and, Turn it on holding R. Go to Advanced -> Toggle USB (flash0)

3- Access \kd\ folder at your pc

    4- Backup these files:

    pspbtjnf.bin
    pspbtknf.bin
    pspbtlnf.bin

And then put the new ones (all the five files of .zip, not just the 3 described above!) from the file you have downloaded.

5- Exit recovery menu and reboot your PSP after that

6- If you want reverse the process, just flash back your backup files @ \kd\ folder

    PSP Slim Installation:

    ATTENTION: NOW IT'S REVERSIBLE!

1- Attach the USB Cable to your PSP and, Turn it on holding R. Go to Advanced -> Toggle USB (flash0)

2- Access \kd\ folder at your pc

    3- Backup these files:

    pspbtjnf_02g.bin
    pspbtknf_02g.bin
    pspbtlnf_02g.bin

4- Download: FATMS MOD for 5.00 (also works at 5.50GEN-B2 as stated)

5- Put fatmsmod.prx on your MS root and FATMS371 folder at \PSP\GAME\

    6- Disable plugins, CXMB etc

7- Run FATMS Mod app, hit X and wait it finishes.

8- If you want to reverse the process, just flash back your backup files @ \kd\ folder

If you can, please test speeds before and after install and post your results!

    Comparison Chart:

Tested game: Valkyrie Profile at CSO (compression 9) at M33 Driver.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

    How come the post says,

But then why does it imply that it does work on GEN B2?

He saying the other 5.00 M33 patch (the one dark alex made himself) wouldnt work with 5.50GEN B2, but the old 3.71 OFW does. It's written in English....

For having a 2,000+ post count, you really are slow, I'm guessing you respond to everything and make up stupid topics.

SORRY Gbatemp.net but people like this kill me.

No chance of brick, if you use it at an 5.50GEN-B2 at least. But it is not working at PSP Phat (game can't be started).

Compare the time it takes to show game icon on XMB, game video and the game itself to load.

There are some videos at youtube about 3.71 FATMSMOD:

I toggle the Advanced->Toggle USB(flash 0), and then I'm not finding the /kd/ folder. Can I go ahead without any worries about backing up the files?

It's on the root of flash0, if you can't find it you will not be able to install this patch on PSP 1000. At PSP 2000 you will not be able to backup files only.
