Until 5.00M33-4, DarK_AleX used Sony's 3.71OFW MS Driver to enhance MS speed at its custom firmware. Then he developed his own one.
Although his patch doesn't work at 5.50GEN-B2, the 3.71 driver works fine
Don't tested it much, but Soul Calibur CSO is loading 3 seconds faster.
Tutorial:
Tested only at 5.50GEN-B2
PSP Phat Installation: (Thanks to th3saint)

2- Attach the USB Cable to your PSP and, Turn it on holding R. Go to Advanced -> Toggle USB (flash0)
3- Access \kd\ folder at your pc
4- Backup these files:

pspbtlnf.bin
And then put the new ones (all the five files of .zip, not just the 3 described above!) from the file you have downloaded.

6- If you want reverse the process, just flash back your backup files @ \kd\ folder

PoisonousMonk3y said:after upgrading to 5.50GEN the lack of speed on the memory stick really began to bother me and so i set about fixing it, at first i tried U3R firmware which was supposed to give the 'speedupms' hack. Although it appeared in the recovery menu i didnt see any significant diference so i tried the fatmsmod. But of course I couldnt just run the 3.71 patcher because it always crashed or returned an error. So i attempted to flash the fatmsmod on manually but first i needed to know what files it patches. Because im not allowed to upload the files and share them on this site you will have to obtaint them yourself.
You will need:
fatms371_friend.prx
fm371.prx
pspbtjnf.bin
pspbtknf.bin
pspbtlnf.bin
In order to get these i used desparter del cementrio v8, launched M33 in test mode and installed the fatmsmod. i then connected my psp (from GEN) to my computer, sim0ply go to the KD (inside TM) folder and find those files above(they may have $ in front of them simply delete that $ from the frront). Once you have those files copy them to your hard disk and reconnect your psp in F0, simply copy the obove files to the KD folder on your root and TADA it works, and it actually has a visible diference. (note to you who think you dont have a KD folder simply goto file and search options in windows and goto tab view, then check 'show hidden files and folders' and un-check hide protected os files)
NOTE:
Before trying this tutorial try installing the Fatmsmod using the patch released by DAX it has been reported to work for some. The patch will crash at the gameboot if you have LEDA 0.2 installed. It may also return to XMB stating 'The game could not be started' this can happen with out LEDA (it happened to me). If you suffer from one of the two errors stated above then this TUT is for you.
