Hacking MPlayer Wii CHANNEL!!!

someone released a fixed version that makes it work properly on widescreen tvs too.

you should update the channel (if you haven't already) or otherwise i don't mind to do it myself.

v0.03:
-happy french bastille day!
-added USB storage support (USB reading is dead slow unfortunately, only good for MP3 files)
-added volume controls (Up/Down buttons on the wiimote)
-added wiimote buttons repeat during playback
-added preliminary test network streaming (shoutcast and mms)
-longer filename display in the file selection screen
-fix for widescreen aspect ratio (uses the Wii display settings)
-more audio playback fixes

No sorry the author hasn't implemented reboot to wii menu, and neither have I, i haven't modified the .dol at all, just injected it into the channel.

wow, this is really great. i hope the external mass storage read rate improves. that would be sooooo badass if i could hook up my 250GB to my Wii to play movies and music. soooooo badass. is there DVD support? not playing DVD movies, but reading DivX/MP4s off of em?

Great...i am trying it now..it plays fines but there are some problems.

The screen is full screen alright but when i watch it on the computer the internal subtitle is shown correctly. When i watch it using Mplayer on the tv, the words are cut off in half, which means it isn't properly stretched? (wrong aspect ratio?)..i can show you photos if you like..
Secondly, is there any plans to get external .srt subtitles supported.

Is it possible to stream full resolution over a network? 2GB sd card is very limiting.......

Last of all, any plans to get the "exiting" fixed and also a channel version (.wad version) working properly.
