I'm new to the, uh, Motherverse.
What's with all the American holiday-named cities? I can understand how a translator wants to make things familiar (politically correct?) to the reader. But "christmas" or "mother's day" just sound absurd for city names. Or did the original Japanese game feature these names as some kind of weird joke? Or were the original names absurd in some other way only funny to the Japanese and did you translate the absurdity rather than the names themselves?
I'm only up to about level 15 character, having done the zoo and the cemetery. Starman Jr. making the animals go crazy and a singing monkey are funny in a Monty Python way but I wonder if I am missing something. Is this the humor of the original game creator or the translators.
What's with the weird monsters "Hippie" and "Redneck?"
The artwork seems to match these monster names well.
Nevertheless, I think I would get a kick out of fighting "Yuppie" and "Investment Banker."
