Hacking Most reliable Gateway resellers?

I just bought one from 3dsgamerworld and I'm pretty sure it's a fake. -.-

Peachds for sure if you're in the US. Also does it fail to update in the gateway in the manue? If yes its either faulty or fake either way get an RMA.

It looks legit. I don't know much about it - I'm still a noob - but the pins are right. It looks a little cheap (Like it could split easily) and the diagnostics has all failed but one. Also, I think I managed to update it, I'm not sure, but booting into GW mode is damn near impossible. I press 'A' and million times and it's really finicky. I'm on 9.0 BTW.

If the FPGA update worked, then it's not a fake AFAIK.
Sounds like it might be DOA though.
I would ask them for a replacement.

See, I'm not sure if it did or not. It looked like it was, but I went to the bathroom while it 'updated'. XD

Now it's not recognizing the red card in the GW menu at all. Is that normal?

Looks real to me.
Did you remember to press select?
Cause GW mode wouldn't even boot with the latest launcher if the card wasn't recognized.

Okay after it presumably updated, it went back to the GW menu. I read you're supposed to 'run Gateway Mode' again to enter the DS home screen. That didn't happen. Am I completely doing this wrong?

Ok Is there a slight bulge on top of the card where you would slide in a microsd card? it looks too flat to be real. Also does it have a spring to pop the card in and out.

Yes, there's a spring, and the very top of the card is completely flat. Is the plastic supposed to be super thin? Like I said, I feel like it could snap in my hand hella easy.

The worst part is, I was really happy about how fast it came in the mail. It took 2 days, which is a feat when you don't live in the Lower 48..

Follow this tutorial down to the T. Minus the bit about new 3ds and tell us if it works correctly http://maxconsole.com/maxconsole_files/v3.1.pdf . In my opinion it seems fake as i've held 4 different gateway cards and they all have a slight bump on the pin side where you would insert your micro sd card.

Even go as far as formatting the SD card used for both your 3ds and micro sd card for the gateway red cardM

Yeah, that's the one I used the second time. I used one on Maxconsole that was pretty much the same, minus the L-Button hitting on the browser exploit. Didn't realize you needed to do that on the browser launch.

Ok im gonna write you a dirty tut right here and now.

1)Format you SD card for the 3DS using this https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_windows/index.html
2)Format your Microsd card using an adapter to the exfat format.
3)put 1 rom any rom onto the micro sd card
4) place Launcher.dat onto your 3ds sd card the latest is 3.2.2
4)start your 3ds go to the browser and type https://go.gateway-3ds.com WITHOUT THE RED CARD IN!
5)click format Emunand and wait for it to finish.
6)restart the 3ds and go to the gateway menu again and click run diagnostic while you have the red card in, if everything passes (the red card should light up with 4 different colors) click launch gateway mode with a
7)while in the 3ds home menu press select to bring up the rom selecter.

Because they are cheap, they ship with USPS, and are in the states so you get your card in 3-5 days tops if you order on a monday. Also they take paypal and mastercard.

Have you tried holding "R" while enetering Gateway mode, so that it tries to update the card one more time? If not, try it and tell the results. Good luck!
