Could you pleease tell more about this. Just asking for coders to some project which have no aim is just... pointless

So wait. Is it a modification of MoonShell 2 or a completely new project? What more is needed in MS2? Also you say you need coders. Does this mean you can't code yourself? What are you going to contribute to it? Is anyone else actually on board?

This thread and the website are horribly uninformative. Get ready to be flamed, it's coming.

yh i know. i need some developers. maybe someone who worked on the original MoonShell project, or people that know ndslib.
Yes, it will be "based" on MS2. I DO NOT know at this moment in time any specific details, maybe i will get rid of the DiskCheck on MoonShell2, as it is annoying.

@Mario The aim is to make a better MS2, that can launch commercial ROMs through the YSMenu interface, but i must stress, i cannot develop the site, or the program that i cannot devlop yet if i dont know what i can do with it. i am a novice, and i am just trying to get a group of developers to help make MS+, as no one else will do it.

You can turn off the DiskCheck. People aren't gonna want to help on a project that doesn't have any goals, so you might want to work on that first.

EDIT: I don't want to discourage you here. Don't take it like that. However, I've seen a lot of posts like this and most of them do fail. A vague post with little goals and no existing team just simply won't go anywhere.

no, i mean to GET RID of diskcheck. not just the menu that says 'turn off diskcheck', but the actual code behind it. anyway, its useless to ask at the moment, i need devs.

EDIT: @sylvwolf. yes, i get you, but i thought GBATemp might be the best place to ask for help. i have posted on other forums already and i am waiting for replies.

OK .. Let me get this right

Here we have some1 (who can't code) asking for coders that worked on moonshell (well that's 'moonlight' & she never let anyone else co-develop it with her) to create a moonshell 'clone' that 'does more' than Moonshell actually does !!! (which isn't a lot)

The only thing that moonshell DOESN'T do is run commercial ROMs or allow Cheats on those games, but there are already ways around this using either YSMenu or AKAIO

[In fact - IIRC 'akShell2' is suppose to be doing something like this anyway for the acekard scene - but they've hit a brickwall at the moment (or so it seems)]

Sounds like some1 wants to re-invent the wheel

So in other words pyrosurfer wants to merge Moonshell2 and Sakura...

Allow me to reiterate my previous statement: lol.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
