I know it sounds like a stupid idea to play music on a DS, but since moonshell isn't compatible with twilight menu, what do I use? I tried the toolchain generic media player, but ended up getting no audio.

Quick reminder I have an Ace3DS+ Clone Flashcart and a DS Lite.

Since you're using a flashcard, Moonshell should definitely be working for you, even with TWiLight Menu++ installed. I don't know why it's not working on your side.

I got an error that says "NDS file version of starting MoonShell2 and Files of installed moonshl2 folder are different. Please confirm whether to have copied a new moonshl2 folder." I have no idea how this works.

I strongly recommend that you use Wood software instead, which is ideal for your flashcard, with excellent compatibility with almost all nds roms, and Moonshell would work out of the box. 😉
