moonshell is really just for show. who really uses it? like why watch movies on your ds when you can watch it on your computer or T.V. also why listen to music when you can listen to music on your ipod/mp3/computer like idk if i missed anything on moonshell but if i did please post but this is my opinion

well actually a whole bunch of people watch movies on their DS, but I sorttttt of agree with you.
I mean sakura does the same thing and it even has better GUI.
And yah.. I don't think anybody listens to music on their DS unless they're on a budget.

Wasn't sakura a clone of MS anyway? (correct me if I'm wrong).

Well, moonshell WAS useful and an incredible achievement at the time of its first release. Hence its fame.

moonshell does what it does for the people that want that stuff... ive never used it for music because i have a ipod nano but i have used it to watch movies on the go... so it serves its purpose for me.

Well, I've used it while I didn't have an mp3 player (very useful if you have DSlite). Also watched some movie and some episodes of tvseries on it so, well, it works.

Ah, read tons of ebooks on it too.

The potential for private, portable porn viewing are limitless. Can't you see that?

i have an 8gb mini sd card and i use moonshell for movie cartoons and music all the time

I think it's a decent media player.

also

1. Tvs and PCs aren't as portable as the DS.

2. Not everyone has ipods or other media players.

Yeah its great i wouldent want to carry a ipod and a ds and it good for watching tv shows on the go. Also it read books. oh and moonshell 2 inproves upon what moonshell and sakura already do its awesome

dude i don't even own an mp3 player. y should i when my ds and my phone can play music just as well? i'm gonna have them on me, so mite as well. and also +1 to the portability. its kind of awkard watchin an anime episode on the bus on ur laptop (esp if it's expensive >.>), so that's y i watch it on my ds. except for very dark scenes, the quality is perfect

the only useful thing i see in moonshell is the book reading ablility

I love moonshell, I have a lot of anime encoded so I can watch it anywhere, got Cowboy BeBop, Excel Saga, FLCL, Elfen Lied, and Full Metal Panic (all 3 series) encoded for moonshell. I use moonshell for listening to music too. It's very useful.

I used it a lot for shows. And soft-reset support

oh right...
i forgot the anime..
its really convenient for anime and shows...
but music?
------------------------------------
i see that its very good for portable TV shows/anime/porn on-the-go
with headphones it makes a super-duper mini TV!
Yahhh... so moonshell is great.
But Sakura obviously surpasses it now.

Hi..
Just reading along and had to add my 2 cents worth.

I played in a touring rock band for years and there's a lot of waiting at airports, long drives and overnight action for muso's on the road and often this time is spent in tiny cramped spaces... like tour vans, back stage, hotel rooms etc.
Sooo..having a 2GB card full of D-Gray Man, Avatar & sCRY-ed' eps was a good thing. Its just that bit more portable than a laptop, a bit more personal than a mini-dvd player, less bulky than a PSP and 'hells yeah' you use headphones! I use it for tunes as well, my actual mp3 player died and so i just switched to using moonshell. Its definitely a budget thing, but since when was that a bad thing? I take the thing with me everywhere anyway, so what if i cant attach it to an arm band and go jogging? I expect the DSi's maringally larger screen will help with watching anime/flicks on the go too so im interested in that when it hits Aus. Just gotta make sure the encode is good quality otherwise you'll get a headache from squinting and craining your neck!!
