Is he upset that the sakura media player OS can play commercial games?

Not from xjenova's translation. He says something like "Of course I know it can play roms. If I didn't know I wouldn't have developed it". So he developed it with commercial games in mind. He's more likely upset he's not getting paid.

In any case M3 seems to be the villain here. I wonder what they have to say for themselves.

Well, at least he left the fifth beta with the new language and skins specifications, a few hours before he closed his site.

The mirror is offline but I believe some people managed to download it before he shutdown the blog.

It's just not right, the M3 team should at least pay him some percentage. 10% wouldn't hurt, or at least thank him, but no... They did benefit from the M3 Sakura he developed right? If it's because of him releasing Moonshell (resulting to more DS users not buying M3 / M3 Sakura) for other flash cart users, I can see the M3 team is being too selfish and wants the profit for themselves...

Yes! I created M3 Sakura! If you buy and use it, you can get firmware that plays commercial games! But I haven't tried it myself! Yes, I know that it plays games! You would think that if I could create Sakura, I would at least know about that! I even went all the way to China because they told me some of the bugs couldn't be fixed! For 3 weeks!...
Even if Sakura sells I won't see a single yen of the profits...

I have decided to stop developing for the DS. For the longest time I've been putting up with crap, so there, I've said it directly...

I don't think anyone would kill themselves over that. O___o I'm sure he's just pissed off (who wouldn't be if they have to go through shit like that). We should give him a few days to calm down and see what he thinks then.

There isn't a whole lot we can do, either. Not much good randomly speculating. It would be best to just wait and see what happens. If he didn't have a contract with M3, I'm not so sure he could sue. I don't know a whole lot about the situation. Then again, Sakura would still be his Intellectual Property. I'm not sure if you can act upon that in China/Japan.

First of all its a pirated company so its not possible for him to sue them. If he will sue them, M3 team will go to jail, but I bet he wouldnt get a cent for it, though.

I'm not sure about this one though, but maybe its possible he could go to jail because he made a firmware / menu for a device that is able to pirate. If someone knows more, please tell me.

I hope he would reconcile.

GBAtemp is it possible to raise donation for moonlight? I'll be happy to open a paypal account just for donating to him.

Edit: He could also screw M3 Sakura all over by selling the source to other cart sellers. Why not do that moonlight. :3

A pirate company? How so? It's only used for piracy by pirates. There are many legitimate uses for an M3, including homebrew and music playback.
