Believe me... Yes it did...
On the topic at hand, I'd like to know why everyone considers Rathalos the spawn of satan?
It was really really REALLY easy compared to other monsters I've ever fought.

Lol fair enough about the posts. ill Edit my previous post in a sec.

Also about Rathalos, id like to show you an earlia post of mine:

Also for the most overrated boss in the game so far, the title goes to Rathalos. Iv been reading that people find him one of the hardest enemies in the game and im here thinking how?! The guy has imo the most predictable attacks in the game and none of them are fast enough to really catch you off-guard, yeah he spends alot of time in the air but it just makes it a longer fight, not a harder fight

so.... Yup!

Perhaps it's because I'm a bowgun user that makes it so simple to kill rathalos. Literally all I have to do is knock him out of the air continuously then Load him up with some shots.

Rathalos is nothing, I just unsheathe attack it to death. Eventually it dies and I spend maybe four mega potions.

Rathalos has been known for trapping people against walls and spamming (not really spam, but you're trapped and can't move in time)

Don't get close to walls problem solved :P

The deleted posts were stupid, and i cant believe i let myself get caught in the stupid.

Talking about stupid captures, every large monster is easily defeated by a shock trap or trap of sort laid on the ground
Started doing the arena quests recently, The purple ludroth only killed me once, got me against the wall and kept rolling and rolling, couldnt move >.>

Been mostly doing them for weapon blue prints, the downloaded events, I've only just now started to touch the port's quest. I assume HR works same way as always? Do certain quest, beat upcoming threat, advance to next rank?

I'm mostly new to the MH series - although I played a little in the PSP version.

PROS:
- huge amount of weapons/armour
- custom weapons and skill trees (awesome)
- a huge player base (especially for Japanese players)
- ability to switch up tactics when you get bored

CONS:
- hugely steep difficulty curve
- systems in the game are not explained well - I finally started using the game's combination list to make the items instead of digging through my box of stuff.
- skill trees are kind of obtuse - you have to figure out what some of the stuff does
- some elitist players exist

I do like this game, but I really get annoyed at people saying that "I should be better" at killing things. (I nearly got my arse handed to me by Gigganox.)

Don't worry about the elitist pricks. Once upon a time I had a lot of difficulty even getting past some of the 3 stars quest. Now I eat most things for breakfast, though I do have problems with taking more than one creatures on at once.

I took ages to get past that 1 star quest coz Lagia-douchebag kept chasing me and eating me, also Epioth's seemed to want to give me everything except monster guts.

Glad thats waaaay behind me now >.>

Whatever rank the Yian Kut ku was was the one that used to be a pain when I first started playing this game.

Agnakator was one I never could beat efficiently. I don't know if I just never learned or that thing just kicks my butt. My friends claim to kill him easy enough so I think it's just me. Doesn't help I borderline refuse to fight him :)

Edit: Not Agnakator, whatever that big moving magma mountain thingy is. I don't think it's in the Tri series?

would it be Dire Miralis?

as for Agnaktor
Agnaktor he s not that hard
the one attack the can be anything it the fire beam (wide spin attack one)

when you break a part you can attack it and the attack will not bounce off
i find water/slime LS /DS is nice for him

LS are nice hit is face if you get the right angle on him and time the attack right
attack the legs he will fall over
also go for the chest when he is using the fire beam
go for the soft underbelly
also Tremor Resistance is good to have
heat res it nice as well
you can roll the fire blight out

I managed to kill him today, I learned that shooting him in his maw and underbelly like mad does a ton of damage ^.^
Plus, sticking a Crag shot in his mouth will stop him from spewing lava for awhile, which REALLY helps.

Akantor , was who I was thinking of now that I looked it up. Name is too similar. Getting kinda used to useing sword and shield, something I avoided like the plague. Not a bad weapon if you don't mind sharpening all the time, like dual swords. I never solo'd with guns before so I may play with those next.

Kinda going to miss the Chameleos line though :(

well
pretty much done with mh3u
i beat miralis.. was fun. would like to get more gear and stuff but farming for stuff just isn't fun solo. only worth it when you got a friend sittin with ya makin stupid jokes and throwing dung bombs at each other.

i did find smoeone on a forum that has the game and lives in my town but it's the japanese version. anyone know if there is a region lock on local play?

Every version is region-locked. The only ones with region-locking lifted was on WiiU, and that's NA/EU regions only -- can't play with JP regions. 3DS, everything has to be same region. I think even Streetpass. You can tag other regions for Streetpass Plaza, but you'll get none for MH3U unless they're NA.
