Today I grabbed the 43 zip from the tutorial here...

but I haven't been able to try that one (if any different).

As far as a syscheck goes, my computer is not wired to the Wii,
so the only way to do that is to type it up on my wife's laptop in
the living room by copying what's on the tv. That will have to
happen tomorrow after work, unfortunately.

Syscheck is an application included in the 43mod.zip folder which can be run from the hbc. Also, you don't need to download anything other than the 43mod and extract it to the sd card. The latest indiana pwns and hackmii installer are already on it.

sorry to ask this here as I can't find anything. Having a 003 error. bottom is 4.3J. autoboot with BootMe no luck. not sure if I'd cioscorp installed as I have a old modchip (d2ckey) but before that i can use gecko to reboot into disc channel to play games. appreciate you attention. Thank you.

Did you follow this guide? Do you have a J console? Do you have priiloader installed? (If so, hold reset while starting the wii up, and disable recovery mode).

Previously mine was a J consoles, Mobo died then change to Korean Mobo. Cause mine using d2ckey (backup works flawlessly in 3.1J) so I accidentally updated via disc channel. Yes previously holding reset button will do the trick but now after error 003 comes out only using GC D-pad can pop me up into 4.3J at the right corner area. So now only my backup and retail Japanese games will spin (not other regions), but when they spin the screen only gives me black screen. Is that means that my modchip doesn't do the trick cause when I look around Youtube and other tuts after they pop in a disc (retail or backup) they still can play the games. Any suggestions for my case? I'm not sure if my IOS 36 has been 'trucha bug' or not. All I know now is my console only can revive via disc-loading. It might be cruel to give up my save data as well. Thanks.

I got no ideas on a way to fix... Try making a new topic in the wii hacking forum, it will get more views, and perhaps more ideas...

For Europe you can use Indiana Pwns or Yu-Gi-OH 5D's Wheelie Breakers. whichever game you can get your hands on.

after two months of inactivity, last night i download some new themes like "wii party" and im unable to play them.

i also make the homebrew channel update via the HB channel but i see only bubbles now and its empty

is time to upgrade to 4.2 or 4.3 or i have other problem?

must upgrade with this tutorial or something else?

can i use ModMii for Windows? i think is easier..

Just copy over 43mod.zip to your sd card after formatting it and follow the guide. All the needed files are on there.

Ya, I could update to 4.2 (or at minimum update your ios's with clean ones). You can use modmii if you like, it is aimed more at people who want more options. This guide is strictly for people who want a softmodded wii in the shortest and easiest way possible.

If you do want to use this guide, just follow the entire guide. Update to 4.2 and Modify 4.2, and you should be good to go

If you have used modmii to get to 4.1 (which it most likely updated to all the latest ios's). Then you should be good to go.

First off, saying not to update because you can brick your wii is not a very clear statement. If he has the system menu ios, and then installs the system menu he would be fine (which if you follow any reputable guide, you wouldn't have to worry about. With that said, 4.1 is fine.

Okay, so I guess you don't need the Exception error info.
I cannot run Syscheck from HBC because I cannot install HBC.
That's what I'm trying to do is get the wii to install HBC.
I'm a bit confused. ???

I cannot get step 1 to work..

I have a 4.0U wii, so step 1 is to get to 4.2

when I get past the SD card load boot.dol step, i get to YAWM

It says it is using IOS60, though by earlier message in this thread it is actually using ios32. (Note, ios32 is not capable of being selected, which could indicate that it is being used.)

After proceeding, it appears to attempt to install the system menu NUS 481 after the shopping channel wad, contrary to a message posted recently in this thread.

anyway, it fails while installing system menu nus 481 wad, returning error -111 (29 succeeded 1 failed).

Have re-d.led the zip file, the last two successful d.l's had the same sha1.

It shouldn't be asking or telling you what ios to use if the files were copied correctly (it reads a file from the /wad directory). It should just start installing the needed wads. That means somewhere the files weren't copied correctly. Also, the only thing that matters is that ios 70 is installed prior to the system menu wad (which it is).

Correct. I now see why, it seems the wrong file got uploaded in the update packs. It is trying to load 236. My apologies, re-upping packs now. If you want to be able to install the wads correctly, open wm_config.txt and edit it to say 36 instead of 236 and save. Then it should work. Please report back and let me know.

Edit: Seems I only missed the 236 in the up42u pack, all other packs are correct.

That's because I started off following the detailed instructions at http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_Page
It failed repeatedly. Then I came here and began reading the instructions and downloaded the 43mod,
which contains the exact same elf and Indiana Jones save files.

Anyways, it's a moot point for now, as my wife took the game back to the rental store
today before I got home from work.
