hey I just finished the guide but nowhere in there did it make a mention of cios rev whatever

was that included or do i need to install that on top of the tutorial?

They're included. It's those ios200+

alright thanks, do you know what rev the cios are and if hermes stuff is in there as well?

for the love of god someone give me just a yes or no...

Hello All,

I have run into the same issue on two virgin 4.2 Wii's with the most recent guide & SD card as of this post.

Everything installs fine, however USB Loaders do not work. USB Loader GX code dumps after the loading screen, and NeoGamma just hangs at a black screen. I have tried installing Hermes' IOS 222, but it won't install with a -1077 error.

Is there something wrong with the CIOS 222 instead from this guide? It seems a lot of others have this issue?

Thanks!

Are you using the same SD-card ?? Try another one. Preferably NOT an SDHC.

Yeah re-hacked follwing this guide & hacked 2 other wii`s using same guide. As I said the old back-ups I have work fine but the new ones dont?
What cIOS rev do you have now?

The same as the guide states - but I`m using Neogamma r8b17 & get message saying best run on rev13 or 14, Followed it to letter! my settings in imgbrun had been changed somehow, so I just installed burnaware burnt another disc & yippee.

Hello. I followed the guide exactly like it said but used Neogamma r8 rev 14 instead of 17 to play burnt discs with my backups. all discs work, but I get a 1051 error if I have my wavebird connected to the top with some games and other games I get 1051 if I don't have it plugged in. Why is this do you know?

I have USA wii on 4.2 and all cios this guide had me do. I use imageburn and write at 2x with others settings of defult for program.

Thank you if you help.

And while adding DOP-IOS MOD v11.1 we could also add WAD-Manager MultiMod v3b.
yay.gif

I got ECC Failure (Corrected) page bla (brand new black Wii) while backing up the nand.

(no bad blocks)

I checked google and someone said nothing to worry about - for debugging purposes?

Is this true?

Anyone??

yes it's true says it on the bootmii website

I recently modded a friends Wii but as it was System Menu 2.2 Bannerbomb v1 wouldn't work. I had to do the official update to System Menu 4.2 via the Nintendo website. I was wondering if anyone has got around this problem without having to do the official Nintendo update.

If there is no way around this, I think that the guide needs to state that the udate to 4.2 will only work on System Menu 3 or higher.

the only way is to update by disc

I hate to sound like a noob but I'll admit this is my first attempt at something like this even though I'm used to working around computers.
Here is my situation:
ver 4.2
1) Followed the steps on http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha...uide/the-basics with successful install of Homebrew
2) Backed up my system using Bootmii
3) Followed steps on http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha.../trucha-bug-4-2 with successful install of Trucha bug
4) I admit to skipping the deletion of the Stub IOS since the system seemed to indicate there was no reason to do this and what I read online advised not deleting them.
5) I followed the steps on http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/cios/waninkoko and chose 36 since I figured this was my first time installing anything on the Wii. That install failed so I figured the best thing to do would be to start over and try the alternate cIOS of 249 the second go around.
6) I restored my backup using Bootmii
7) Redid step 3 and this time around I did not skip the deletion of the stub IOS since I figured that could have been the cause of my previous failure. The instructions were not specific on which stub IOS to delete but it said I would have to scroll through them so I removed all of the available stub IOS. Successful reinstall of Trucha Bug.
8) Re-attempt of step 5 with the intent of choosing 249. Once the app loaded my wii remote lost connectivity and would not work.
9) Restore backup again, reinstall Trucha Bug
10) App Hermes cIOS to apps and load. Same thing happened and wii remote lost connectivity.

Other games seem to still work fine but Waninkokos and Hermes cIOS cause Wii Remote to lose connectivity

Is it safe to install some IOS like 33,35,36,37,38,53,55,56 to play Wiiware games downloaded from the internet (install wad files to NAND)?

I was successful in modifying my friend's Wii using these instructions today. However, when I try to play Wii Sports through the regular Disc Channel I get "Wii System Update" instead of "Wii Sports" When I click on "Wii System Update," I get "in order to use this software, you must perform a Wii system update." The system software is already 4.2 so I don't understand. The only way to play Wii Sports or other games that I've purchased is through the Home Brew Channel - NeoGamma. I had modified my Wii in December and the Disc Channel on that one works fine for purchased games. Is there any way to fix this so purchased games can play through the disc channel? Thanks!

I'd recommend reading up on PriiLoader, as it has a feature to block system updates from legit games. Google it, search on this site, as it is everywhere. As far as I know, this is the only way. But I could be wrong.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

This link solved my problem with 4.2 - I just had to use Any Title Deleter to remove CIOS 222, 223, 249, & 250. I then could install CIOS Rev 16 successfully, which allowed USB Loader GX to work great.

Definitely make a BootMii backup before doing this though.

i wish in the near future that all the files needed to mod a wii will be integrated into 1 software or be a feature in bootmii.

example:
install HBC .... done
install bootmii ... done
install dvdx ....... done
install trucha..... done
install cios....... done
restart wii ... wait 5 secs.

It's down to three apps right now

Hackmii installer(hbc,bootmii,dvdx)
Dop Ios Modv11(Restore Trucha/fake sign and delete ios stubs)
Wad Manager (Install cios, ios, system menu files needed)

I could see it getting down to two apps if someone incorporated wad manager into dop ios mod but i really don't see anyone adding the hackmii installer to any other program.
