I think the buttons are the same size so it should be possible to use n3DS buttons in an XL. Not a lot of replacement parts for the small n3DS though. I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement...188890?hash=item568509a39a:g:sYgAAOSw2GlXDegE
No they are not the same size and no they wont fit, please dont guess when not knowing, would waste other peoples money if he orders stuff that wont fit because you guess

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hey just wondering where I can pickup a N3DS XL housing , Just need it for modding and all.
Ebay america has lots of them, ther is a red replacement set for like 20 bucks. I really want it but shipping to eu is another 50 bucks with import charges :c

Im too poor xD , also how about I do my NAND and SD card mod in 1 port but uses different cables which connects to differnt pins?,
Planning on using a 10 Pin IDC cable, I may also merge my charger into this(3DS one is very crappy)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Gonna run a test tomorrow on controller , ill just directly attach each button to a pinout on the IDC connecter.

I never said I was sure, and I thought I made it pretty clear that I wasn't. All I meant was that they look like they are the same size, but of course I can't be sure without having both in front of me.

i just modded my n3ds xl c-stick.

watched a video on youtube (someone called Justin) i purchased the same psp nub he got, i bought them off amazon they are by insten.

Justin's method is super simple and safe if you dont care about the original imo. crappy slippery c-stick xD

i ripped the darn thing off and placed the psp stick on, and holy cows the thing feels amazing.

loving it.

edit: i wonder if the circle pad can also be removed so easily? i would love to replace it with the cyber grip pads that i have (the gamecube one feels best) but i doubt we can just rip it off easily like with the c-stick nay?

The PSP thumb stick is flatter than the nub

funnily the psp stick actually ended up not letting me close the ds all the way, or did i do something wrong?

do i have to press force it all the way down?

because the psp nub is abit loose when i move it around even though it does feel sort of snug.

do i have to push it very rough until i hear it making a click sound?

because i currently cannot close the lid all the way down , and so i have use some bump thingie on my n3dsxl to have its lid abit up so that the nub does not touch the screen.

i cannot close it, it presses against the screen , so if i want to keep them on permanently i feel unsafe unless i put a bumper on the top of the console.
(and i have seen no once modding their circle pad, so i do not know)

edit: @alex61194 oh really?? how ? :( i am too afraid to put alot more force than i already have!!!

nice! i have the same stick, but i have it on my n3dsXL maybe it is different for the xl?

edit: btw. for me it is abit taller than the height of the XYAB buttons.

and i do not know if i really installed it correctly , i kind of feel that i did.

because it works well when i move it around, except that it really does not close the lid all the way down when i close it.

it stays open a little, and that is still annoying.

when it´s good installed the psp stick can not move at all it´s like a tactil stick

mine moves down etc. around the edges to the right and left of the nub it moves down on both sides when i press it , any pro tips on how to put it on?

side note: i have a skin sticker applied, could that cause an issue with the placement?

btw. by closing down the lid fully i mean really fully down, does it go fully down for you, or is there a slight lift?

for me it closes fine but not fully and that bothers me, by fully i mean pressed down on the n3dsxl's original bumps.

the sticker could be the reason, to install it you only have to put pression nothing else just presure until you cant move the stick at all

now it is perfect ! it closes right !

the tirck to it was to move the oval shape alittle bit to the side while it was vertically standing and then pressing it down on the square'ish ds nub holder thingie.

many thanks ! :) now i dont need to put any bumper on it and wont be afraid of hinge stress.

i wish we could do the same for the analog pad ;_; i have the cyber gadget analog grips some of them feel great, especially the gamecube styled one.
i wish i could replace that with the original.

because i dont like to actually use the grips and take them off every time i play , it is hassly, so i use them not so often.

and if i want to keep them attached permanently i would have to use bumper and i dislike of doing that because that causes hinge stress.

best is to use mods while the console closes all the way !! :)
