I never really saw anything wrong with Wii Music in the first place(but one has to admit, their presentation with that random Ravi Drums douche was horrible), actually, I thought it was a pretty cool idea!

My thoughts exactly.

I'm not going to bother clicking on the link, but I'm guessing it's in reference to a presentation he recently hosted in Cali. I completely follow his train of thought, and I'm glad Wii Music exists. I won't be buying it, but I think it's a cool piece of software for young kids (and perhaps adults who aren't musicians). I think some folks forget they were once kids, too. And that seems to be Miyamoto's greatest talent: the ability to communicate to people of all ages and walks of life. At this juncture, he's interested in communicating and facilitating a younger audience and their early interest in music. I commend him and Nintendo for it, and it's obviously something he's passionate about. His rounds with the media about this title have, from what I can tell, had little to do with marketing the game and everything to do with trying to make them understand that this "game" isn't for "gamers"; it's for folks who love music but aren't necessarily musical.

Yeah, I really don't have a problem with Wii Music.

I'm definitely buying it, it doesn't look like fun, but I'm not another dumbass crying that "casual games" are ruining my life.

Nope, the link is to an exclusive interview that he gave to Multiplayer. Most of the interview is about WiiMusic, cause well.. that's what he is trying to promote right now.

One good thing that I think he says there is that he wished to WiiMusic to come out before this whole Guitar Hero, Rock Band thing.. cause people would be able to look at it in a different way, but, by a coincidence, the game came out now. He also says that he always wanted to do something with music and the ocarina songs in Zelda OoT were created because he wanted something with music in the game.

Very nice stuff. You can really tell Miyamoto's a genius when it comes to games. Wii Music appeals to kids, and it works well like that, why people are giving it a score as bad as 5 (I'm looking at you, IGN) I'm not sure.
Totally agree with what Miyamoto's saying, and he seems to know where it's at. Can't wait to see what his next projects will be!

Part 3 is out: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/10/29/...o-zelda-portal/

Miyamoto talks about innovations on the hardcore market, flaws in Zelda TP and Galaxy and points out that he's the producer in the new Punch-Out!

The score might seem a bit low (especially considering they gave some extremely bad games higher scores), but you have to admit that the review makes sense. IGN is right: the seasoned gamer probably won't enjoy this. I agree that the score should be higher (even though I don't really like the game), but it's the review that counts, and the review is honest.

Yeah, the review's fine, I agree. The score should've taken other audiences into account though, just as IGN do with all other kiddy games.

Haha, yup, he's definitely ticking all the boxes.

I suppose I can't really judge this game like that, it is the first installment of that series so its not going to be the best but i'm sure better upcoming version will expand on the idea of wii music in general.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
