Anyway, is Thesolcity going to host a new server? I just got back from holiday for a week a need to play some minecraft.

Cool. I just noticed the high amount of minecraft threads on page 2... this thread is going to get quite cluttered with that many discussions going on at the same time.

Also, BoS's server looks as though it's been griefed....

Permissions uses the error message "You do not have access to this command".

Also, people keep trying to connect to my server with cracked versions of MC and spamming my log.

I did that once...5 guys just gave themselves 46 and blew the place sky-high
 
Unrelated, but I haven't played Minecraft since Terraria came out and beat it up.
From what I've played of both, I like Terraria better. But who knows. There might be new updates for Minecraft that might push it ahead of Terraria now, I have no idea, honestly.
 
I've never tried a Minecraft server before long-term. Is there anything I should be aware of or look for?

I did play with my brother once before, but his world continually had chunks that wouldn't load/lag and he never tried to find out what was wrong with it. We were connected over a LAN so I don't even know what could have been the problem.
 
The key thing to know about pretty much every minecraft server is that they're all terrible.

Good luck finding one that doesn't suck, lol. I had a great server to go to till it self destructed finally after like 6 months.
 
I'm bored with none of the MC servers running so I'm running a PvP server for the rest of today only for a bit of fun. I will be giving out any items people ask for to add to the fun

Oh, and griefers: Don't even bother. This server is only running for 1 day and it's PvP so there's nothing to destroy. And if anyone blocks the spawn / spawn-kills I will just ban their ip. Also TNT is off unless I give it to you (I'll give to anyone bar griefers).

I'm going to be honest here and say that the only decent servers I've seen in this thread is Krestent's one and Tempcraft. Pretty much every other server isn't 24/7, is poorly-run and has a lot griefers.

Also, I don't understand why everyone keeps making new servers when we already have a couple decent servers.

Everybody wants power without either being entitled to it or earning it first, it's a sad perversion that we'll always see.
I'll keep the OP updated with the latest servers though, it's sorta the purpose of this thread.
 
I have a Hamachi 1.8.1 server, with some really col builds, You start in a finished complete castletown . I also built stargates to teleport to other areas. My server is creative, One of the portals goes to Hyrule Castletown Market or whatever, It has the temple of time, and a big as shit Hyrule castle. I also made a kokri forest and Kakariko village, All from OOT.I plan on making a whole map to be just like OOT Lol. Apparently all of my plugins from 1.7.3 work, bigbrother authme etc. So it'll all be protected. To join you need to PM me for the hamachi info.
 
What happened to Tempcraft?

Tempcraft SMP is pretty dead, since no one plays on it, and most of the ones who do play on it, they don't even have a Temp account.

There's no community, it feels like Single Player.
