but that what i was saying from the start, if you use your own legit copy you should not get banned, but the other guy saying you can update pirated copy.
Using a pirated copy of the game to update via local matching and a second nintendo switch

and a pirated copy, on a mig switch are 2 very different things. This second one is what will get you banned

i just saw the method, they factory reset the other switch 2 all the time, it's not worth it at all.

I guess that if it's worth or not is not up to you, but to anyone who thinks about using it or not. Some will agree with you and deem it unworthy to use, some people will find it quite worthy.

If this is the post you're talking about. That method is also flawed which I explain in the reply right after
idk... since switch 2 release using that method my original switch 2 (wich one i use for updating games and play my switch 2 games online is not banned yet).

I dont know if my switch 2 (B) is banned or not, because that switch is always on airplane mode and if its banned or not it doesnt matter cause i can play and update games stills local way.

nobody can guarranty 100% safe mode, but after 5-6 months using that method witouth ban i think its not too risky. (but no 100% safe). People need to know the risk of using mig on their consoles before buying.

I think the point is, that that console is as good as banned, because the second it goes online it'll be banned instantly. It has a log of all the blacklisted/pirated certificates stored on it, and it'll "phone home" to Nintendo's server the moment it goes online. There's no way around that, unless someone makes a jailbreak to completely wipe the device. And that might be years away. Didn't it take the community like 4 or 5 years to fully jailbreak the Switch 1?

thats what im saying.... i dont care if the second one is banned or not.... 99% banned or not dont care, because that switch was born for playing switch 1 games on switch 2... always offline.... for online and playing my switch 2 games i have my other switch 2.

Just a quick question; Why not use a Switch 1 and a Switch 2 then? Use the Switch 2 for updating games and playing legit games, and use the Switch 1 as the "offline" console for pirated games.

Why do they both need to be Switch 2s? Is there a reason for that? It seems like a waste.

Because Switch 1 games run much better on Switch 2... if you want to use a hacked Switch 1, you can too... everyone's free to do what they want with their money and their life, right? If you think it's a waste... then you can spend your money on whatever you want (I don't care what you spend your money on, so maybe you should too).

So far, we've seen reports of local transfer of game updates from a hacked Switch 1 to a Switch 2, and from one Switch 2 to another Switch 2. However, I haven't yet encountered any reports of local transfer of updates from a Switch 2 to an unhacked Switch 1. This could be the reason.

But what do you mean by much better? I've seen the comparison videos on Youtube, and there is hardly a difference at all. Only slightly higher framerates is all you get in most cases. Are you talking about the enhanced Switch 2 upgrades for Switch 1 games?

all games that have switch 2 update...

Specially nice the ones with FREE upgrades for Switch 2, like Red Dead Redemption.
Also nice the ones like Hogwarts or Skyrim where you can also get a really low price full SW2 digital version if you already own the sw1 version (skyrim just requires you to have the anniversary edition dlc to get the upgrade... ).
Also some games that were struggling in SW1 run smoother in SW2... after all is a better hardware.

When Nintendo announces Switch 2 OLED that'll be an awesome upgrade as I just can't get used to that LCD screen the launch Switch 2 has. Switch 1 OLED looks way nicer.

all games that have switch 2 update...
I've created an account just to reply to your statements. I got 2 x NS2 - both are now perma banned. The first one was banned after i transferred data from NS1 that was using MigSwitch/MigFlash for running (full airplane/offline play) and updating games (online method, using only full cert dumps), the 2nd one was banned recently after using the update method that i was using since i have MigFlash. I've copied full .xci dump with original certs to my sdcard (1 game on entire sdcard), inserted migflash (icon popup), ejected, updated game online, transferred to 2nd switch using local method and after 48h i got perma ban on my 2nd NS2 that was never used before for MigSwitch/MigFlash. Firmware is 1.2.3 - both NS2 had most recest OS version. It seems (my theory only) that some .xci dumps (even with certs etc.) are now flagged by Nintendo.

Of course public xci dumps would have their certs flagged

Public dumps have always been flagged

Since day 1 airplane mode never changed a thing. Logs are stored in nand

frnovoa mentioned russian forum - the source is the same so it means = public
What ?

Any xci or cert you don’t dump or own yourself (or privately with friends ) is considered public and not safe.

If you could find the file so could an unknown amount of other randoms

Some forums are not safer than others they can’t do anything different to make their files “safe” nor is there anything any of us can do to make them safe besides use them on an emulator only and never an unbanned switch (besides enunand )

I'm not writing this because i'm not aware of this. It's just from my perspective something has changed recently. I own in total 4 devices (2 x NS1 + 2 x NS2) with two migs - never got banned on NS1 (airplane mode + online only for updates) and been always using these methods for updating dumps (own + public with certs). I have the feeling that on NS2 Nintendo has far more better tools for detecting it - thats all (my first NS2 got banned and i never used mig there - just from data transfer from my NS1 - and NS1 never got banned lol)
