My Mig is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I have my games already backed up with the backup app using my hacked ns1. Got a 1tb sandisk (zelda edition cause its just fitting to use it for my backups) ready to start using. Will go into my launch firmware unit and never get updated. I am hoping the new donkey kong has the 20.1.1 firmware so I can update my never opened to that or any firmware afterwards if a hack ever is found.

Did it make you update or can you still update games without forced updating the console?
It automatically downloaded the firmware update to my console even tho I have auto updates turned off, so I guess that only works for games. It asked me to update, but I ignored it and hit start software. Then once it tried to open fast Fusion it said there's an update for the game and let me download it.

Also let me go into the eshop despite not updating.

Also buying games from Nintendos website then having it install to the console worked. Could potentially be a workaround if they do block the eshop for lower firmwares

Come on, you can buy another Switch 2, swap the tablet and return the whole packet, not that this wasn't a thing before.
Serials are recorded. You would have to jump through hoops by replacing the outer shell with the new one, while also hoping the rep doesnt turn it on and check the serials in the menu.

Let me understand: is your plan to never connect your switch online for fear of being banned?

You want to risk banning a $500 console sure go ahead.

End of off topic.

Ban or no ban.

I've connected multiple times.

I'm not using anyone's dumps and I'm not playing online - most people who got banned were probably users who had the same game certificate.

Ok, reading your previous post I was under the impression you weren’t going to put your S2 online, strictly updating it offline through carts. It seems to me that’s the plan of multiple users for the fear of N banning them… but i don’t understand the logic: N threatens a ban which consists in preventing your console going online and therefore these people never go online basically auto banning themselves… I just don’t get it.

Just FYI,
As I said on another post (gbatemp.net/threads/mig-switch-2-lets-figure-it-out-i-recently-updated-and-am-still-not-banned.672640/post-10681039), I'm always able to cancel the firmware update, and still update the Sw1 game to be used on the Sw2.

And still not banned. (Got my second unit sealed, just in case)

In my country all the stories carefully checks the S/Ns of the consoles before giving a return, so no way.
That, in big malls and even small shops... come on, they don't even know a fuck about consoles really. Besides, there's several ways of bypassing that, like carefully swapping the outer shell. Plus, if one cared to do this, he would use a circular cello tape as the one used in the original box and return it as unopened. But again, there's various ways of doing this effectively.

Most shops/malls don't know a fuck about any of this. Of course, he would also factory reset the console. Will the shop guy do the initialization to get to the settings for checking the serial ? That, after opening the re-sealed box, etc. ? Actually making a seemingly unused/unopened product a used one ? I don't think so...

Not for a fear of being banned just for potential hacks. I have a 2nd console to keep up with firmware when a game I want to play makes me. Although I do not see the first party support Nintendo use to have in the gamecube/wii era. There selection is getting far and few between (relying on remakes more than making actual games. Same can be said with the movie industry lately.) It's too much to ask for companies to co.e up with new content.

From the Russian forum:

He's claiming they banned SW2 because he used Mig on Sw1 (offline), but Sw1 didn't got banned? How does this make sense that Nintendo won't bann his Sw1 where they detected Mig, but banns his SW2?
Also, he's writing about "NS1 Migflash offline", how would Nintendo even know he's using Mig if his Switch is offline?

Calling BS on this one

Agreed. The idea that Nintendo won't Account ban, but would console ban a totally different console than the one they detected unauthorized activity on is preposterous at face value.
