Hey guys, just a quick tip. If you use MIG Switch with your Switch 2 and keep it offline to avoid getting banned

Keeping it offline will not spare you from getting banned, not at all. The moment you go online even only for a split-second, that's it.

So, essentially what you are doing now by keeping it offline has the same effect than being banned (=not able to connect to Nintendo's servers), and if you ever decide to take it online for whatever reason, you will be banned anyway.

Of course you will be banned safe using public dumps if you are offline. But when the telemetry data is sent the next time, you are screwed.

I've tried mixing certificates with xci's all I own legally, but still will see if i get banned or not!

I don't care, I've had an offline Switch 1 for years and I was only online with it once at the beginning and then installed the CFW on it, I don't play online and I don't need to, so whether I get banned or just stay offline is irrelevant, I get game updates like I described, you still get FW updates when you buy games in the store, which you can also borrow!!!

Yeah. He's also trying to sell his Switch 2 in the two threads as "the first ever banned NS2" as if that gives it some value, which makes me question the validity of his claims.

If you believe all of the comments he's made, such as only using his own backups, never selling the original games, not having a Nintendo account linked to his hacked Switch 1 (only his unhacked OLED and now his Switch 2), then there's no reason he should have caught a ban. He also says his OLED, which he's used the MigSwitch on before, isn't banned.

Already happening. Saw this on reddit (yuk). Guy basically was trying to boot his MIG on the S2 while online. Also dumb enough to use 1 account for everything.

Games like BOTW received Switch 2 Edition update so I guess that, if you have a Switch 1 version of the game on your MIG Switch, you can update it to the latest 1.8.1 Switch 2 Edition upgrade. Not sure if the Switch 2 cart of the BOTW Is actually in a Switch 2 game format instead of Switch 1 game format, if you know what I mean?

The "Switch 2 Enhanced" versions of BOTW and TOTK are separate eShop purchases in addition to owning the original cartridge or digital version. No way you're getting those to work without purchasing them and downloading on the S2. My suspicion is that one could use a mig version of BOTW at 1.0.0, then update to >= 1.8.x via a CFW S1 but that's all.

That's all I use mine for. I'm not saying I won't get banned, but it's good to know there has been a ban wave and I was not on the chopping block

so lets say you use your own back ups, update through cart first time and then use mig switch, but then the game gets another update without knowing sometime in the future and it updates while you have the migswitch in, wont that also lead to a ban or am i stupid? is it just the first update has to come from the cart?

Post seems really fishy because everything he said he did, all the youtubers also did day1 (he´s saying he insterted migswitch, game showed but didn´t boot; so he had old mig FW on it) so why would he get banned instantly and dozens other (with video proof) do not?

Edit: If it´s true what he´s saying on reddit we will have dozens of ban reports in the next 48-72hrs, if this stays the only report he´s obviously lying.

To be honest, the moment NSW2 backups are a thing i´ll probably do the same as with my Switch1, risk a bann and get a second Switch for online play.
Not worth to risk it now for only Switch1 backups with migswitch thoug.
