The Elite Series 2 Core controller originally released back in September and was only available in just one color. White. But now, Microsoft has decided to bump up that number up to three with the introduction of two new colorways, Red and Blue.

Microsoft aren't strangers to these two colors, of course. The current-gen vanilla Xbox Wireless Controller has had a blue variant since it's launch in 2020, and a red variant was launched a few months later in 2021. Now, they're set to bring these two colors over to their high-end controller... well, the more affordable variant, that is.

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller is essentially the original Elite Series 2 released back in 2019, but it doesn't have things like the interchangeable thumbsticks, D-pad and paddles included. Those are sold separately in a 'Complete Component Pack', meaning that Microsoft can make the Core fifty dollars cheaper than the original, while still giving people the option to buy the components later on.

The red and blue colorways are currently available to pre-order on Xbox's official website for $129.99, and will be released on April 11th. The Complete Component Pack is available separately for $59.99.
