Microsoft is Logitech's biggest competitor, so no.

Eventually we'll ditch this laser or beam crap and go with completely different technology, like accelerometers or whatever. To be honest, I'm surprised we don't use accelerometers in computer mice already. They're not limited to any surface of any kind, they can work on anything and can even be used in the air if necessary.

A) Its not cost-effective for most people and companies

B) Not nearly as precise

C) Harder to switch between air mouse and keyboard while maintaining efficiency

If it worked on glass surfaces I'd be impressed, but it doesn't as "BlueTrack Technology does not work on clear glass or mirrored surfaces."

Fair point about it not being as precise, I forgot about this. I don't see how it's any less cost effective then this Bluebeam technology, considering you can bundle in an accelerometer in a PS3 controller or Wii Remote and still only sell that off for £30 and make profit. The air mouse thing was really more of a "it can do that too" point rather then a "eventually everyone will be using air mice!" point

I think Razer does some of the gaming shit for Microsoft. AFAIK, Razer is Logitech's biggest competitor for gaming mice/keyboards. Fuck that though, I love my trusty old Logitech G5.

Laser mouse works pretty darn well on top of a denim.

One time I got a $2 baby jean, cut it up and wrapped around my mouse pad. Worked wonders.
Well, that's when I was playing Counter Strike extensively, right now I don't care if I have to use my mouse directly on top of my desk or jean covered mouse pad.
