Hacking MH4 Online, still use gateway?

Hello everyone, i got a question because i didnt update my gateway since about a year...

i want to play mh4 online but also want to play other games with my gateway, is this possible and what is the best way to do this?
buy mh4 and use the original or use my game ID from mh4 on the gateway (can u post me a tutorial how to do this, ive heared it is possible but im not sure how to )

my old3ds xl is on 4.5 and my emunand is somewhere near 7 i belive

Take a header (rip a cart in the gateway menu and extract it) any header (from a game you own and will never sell or let someone borrow) and patch the .3DS of MH4 using this. make sure you put the latest gateway launcher which is 3.4.

Also update your Emunand to 9.9 through system update while it says GW3DS DO NOT LEAVE THE SYSTEM SETTINGS WHEN YOU SEE GWDS go straight to system update.

only cartridge games have headers ^^ and only .3ds roms use headers!

Another option you have is to download a mh4 .cia and install it to emunand. There is even a legit cia so you could play it without gateway when you boot up the console. You can play Cia games whitout risk of getting banned no private header needed.

After some research is seems so, i have a 3ds XL and a original 3ds, i have been using the original 3ds cause im scared of getting banned on the XL....but with this info i think ima go ahead and install "legit" cias only on my 3ds XL... only problem is idk how to tell legit cias apart from regular cias etc...and also if nintendo will have a way to match download history with whats actually on your device to implement bans that would SUCKKKK

1.First google "bigbluemenu download" and download the Attached File .zip from the first site that shows up. Inside you have a .cia and a .3ds version of big blue menu wich is the cia installer.
2.Put the .3ds on the gateway red card sd like any other .3ds game and the .cia on the root of your 3ds sd card.
3.Go to your emunand hit select and choose big blue menu on the gateway multirom menu.
4.Launch it hit right once on the dpad and scroll down untill you find the big menu cia.
5.Press A to install and after the install finished hit the home menu button.

Now you will have big blue menu on you home menu of your emunand! search for the cias you want, put them on the root of your 3ds sd card and follow steps 3 to 5 again for every other cia.

The have been 0 reports of being banned atm with cias and I use them myself online without any problem. The catch is that some take a couple of minutes to install the first time not like .3ds games that don't need to be installed. After installing a cia you can delete the .cia on the root of your 3ds sd card. Search for as many Legit "perfect" cias as you can cause once you install those you don't even need Gateway or any CFW to play them.

Find that ISO site, it has downloads of legit CIAs. It has a thread with all the available legit CIAs for each region but many links are broken. You have to hunt around the site a bit to find all the ones that have broken links on the main thread.

I forgot to mention an important detail. If you are only going to play them in emunand then regular cias will work great for you. Legit cias are great for sysnand but on emunand they would work like any cia.

is there a way to install on sysnand while still having a emunand to spoof update? cause im on 9.0.02 U FW on sysnand and also i know its random but how slim are the chances of being banned using legit cias? and can i downgrade 3ds XL?

Using any kind of cia legit or not will not result in ban. There have been 0 reports of cia getting banned atm so you should be good to go online.

Edit:Just tried a game that required 9.6 on gateway sysnand and it didn't work. So if you would want to play one of the newer games on 9.0 you will have to look for a cryptofixed version of the cia. I thought it would have worked with firmlaunch

Is the 3ds xl that you plan to keep up to date already on 9.9 or is it still 9.2 or below? If 9.2 or below, you can install all the legit CIAs on your sysNAND and then update, and they will continue to be useable.
