I got this working with Loadstructor too, only thing is I have to manually rename the corresponding dol, but it's not a big deal for me :3

Could you elaborate? Do you mean you have 3 different Trilogies on your Wii Main Screen? Also, did you drop the files to the SD card, or are you using it from the disk?

Only one Trilogy channel. Loadstructor loads the dol from the SD; you need to make a folder called "usb-loader" on the root, put the corresponding dol inside and rename it R3ME.dol (yeah just first four letters).

I have the dols from each game on a separate folder. So when I'm ready to move from one game to another, I'll copy the dol I want to the "usb-loader" folder and replace the other one. Since I'm planning to play one game at a time, it's ok for me.

I tried Configurable USB Loader, and it works with the alt dols as well, but I'm still having the individual games display at 480i. Whenever I load the dol for the Main Menu, however, that stays in 480p. What gives?

Did somebody try to load a forwarder as alternative .dol?

It would need this function in its source:
Code:
s32 __IOS_LoadStartupIOS()
{
ÂÂÂÂreturn 0;
}

That *could* work. And if it does, somebody could write a forwarder you put as alternative .dol on sd card and launches the game depending on which button is pressed or show a menu. (it would require extracting the 3-4 .dols from disc to sd of course)

Hey guys i got it to work with the alt.dol but is there a way to choose another profile? because your directly loading the dol which apparently just uses the first profile.

It is very easy to get this game working in Configurable USB loader. Just run the game normally first, select a Mii, create a save. Exit and run the loader again, turn alt dol on for the game, and save settings. Now when you run the game, before it begins you can select the dol for the game you want to play (1, 2 or 3). Luckily this was an easy alt dol fix

This isn't working for me at all. When I select the alt dol the only one available is main.dol

press left or right to scroll thru the .dols, 5 in total

My GX Loader (rev715) also freezes when I try to select the alt dol, but after reading that games launched from alternate dols force 480i, it isn't even worth bothering. Does anyone know why this is? Hopefully future loaders will force 480p when launching from an alternate dol...

My CFG Usb Loader played Metroid Trilogy fine. I set it up to force ntsc on my Pal Wii and also alt.dol from disc and it worked perfect. I so far have tried the first Metroid game and the third one useing this method and both worked perfect. I did make a game save first plus I had dvd in the Wii Drive as well.

Is that just GX that forces 480i or all of them? ugh.

If metroid 3 doesn't work and metroid 1&2 work that's because you downloaded a badly ripped version..... like I did yesterday.

The guy only made an iso with the first layer but didn't rip the second layer, that's why.

i cant get it to work

on cios rev10

to be specific, i can boot into main menu
if i cfg-usbloader + alt dol boot mentioned, i can start the game, but it forces the game into 480i (i think) which messes up my monitor
if i use another usbload, and start mp1, it just restarts wii

All games work fine for me. For those of you who have the scrubbed version of the game, MP3 does not work. If you get the nonscrubbed one, MP3 works great!!

Check your ISO file size to see whether it is scrubbed or nonscrubbed:
7.61GB= Scrubbed (MP3 does not work)
7.91GB= NonScrubbed (MP3 does work)

Got this working fine with some help from the sticky in Wii Hacking.

Patched IOS36, cIOS rev 14 and Neogamma got Prime 1 and 2 working with alt dol. Prime 3 doesn't work, but I'm not bothered because I have that one already for wii.

Result!

mine is manually compressed to .ciso

7.44 GB (7,990,181,888 bytes)

so what do i have then?

I wish people would stop asking how to get MP3 to work using GX. I ALREADY posted the 100% working solution!

Also, those using Gamma r7 need to install cIOS 13b & use Gammas alt.dol feature. cIOS 14 breaks DVD9 support!!! Sheesh people.

Does cIOS rev9 support DVD9 ?
