Prime 1 & 2 are being released as part of the 'new play control' line in japan. In August, Prime 1, 2, & 3 will be released in PAL and NA on one disc all with wii controls

Seriouly, could somebody please patch the .dols of the game to english manually with a hexeditor and see if it works?

i used a ppf and then patched the iso. caused the wii not to boot! don't patch it with a ppf!

The ppf patch available is for metroid prime 1, of course it does not work.

How do you know that the game can't be patched to english?

hmmm you're right looks like they just tried the ppf.. DOH people that is for metroid 1's iso, that will not work on any other disc

some files will be bigger or in another position, so it will not patch the correct spot.
I just quickly read the first page n thought they did try the .dol hexeditting

on USB loader prime 1 does not work, burnt it will

that is completely.. you can patch it so that you can't save, and can't access the menu, then it works on usbloader afaik

I could play MP1 this way so I assume it'll work with MP2

It IS an IOS rebooting game and it CAN be patched to english or whatever language you want (patched it to english and to french, both worked).

@Those who want to patch:
-Get WiiScrubber and a Hex Editor
-Open your MP2 ISO using WiiScrubber
-Extract the folowing files: main.dol and rs5mp2jpn_p.dol
-Then open these 2 files in your favorite hex editor, search for "JAPN" (without the quotes) you'll see a line with all the languages
-Replace the last 4 letters (JAPN) with your own language (ENGL for english users) and your language with JAPN (might not be needed)
-Replace the original files on the ISO with the ones you just modified
-Burn your modified ISO
-Enjoy the game!

Yep game works great in English, it was exactly the same has the MP1 patch just needed to do it manually Also works on the USB Loader by switching the dols just like MP1 like mentioned above Just make sure you already have a start save before hand.

extract the rs5mp2jpn.dol to the desktop then rename it main.dol
go back to wii scrubber right click on main.dol and hit replace and replace it
with the main.dol you just renamed

also works with the english patch, just make sure to already have a save file, so it can load it correctly

I do plan on getting the trilogy (quite frankly, these are my favorite games ever), but it's still kinda cool bringing my HDD/disc over to a friend's house (whose Wii I've also softmodded) and playing it way before it comes out.

I think thats for softmodders, I don't think the game needs to be so butchered with save files a wotnots for chipped wii's. Though I could be wrong about that.
