I will be focusing on the single player part of the game for now, and I have no Idea how to actually implement something like this. My main concern is the original Metroid 2 Gameplay

I know but whenever it's finished, you will have much more time to think of it I guess.
I'll have to try the RPG Maker port from @Rinnegatamante
Just in case I fail to finish the homebrew game I'm working on.

Looks amazing. Issues so far:
  • Audio glitch in some rooms
  • When firing missile, end of arm cannon has black box
  • When fully charged, the beam at the end of the gun becomes "static" vs the "vibrating" look you get when the cannon is being charged
I also agree that the map should be smaller and follow you
Anyway, keep up the good work

It's a clone not a port and it's far from being finished. I just stopped working on it cause it's a too long work for a single developer.

Ah I didn't know it was a clone. Btw is it compatible with *hax 2.5/2.6?

@jbr373 Sorry for the offtopic. I'm gonna test right now the tech demo and give you some feedback.

There was a port of EasyRPG (RPG Maker 2k/2k3 core clone) long ago but it never worked to me. I am also interested on continuing the project but seems like even if you re-compile it, there is some strange thing with memory allocations or similar.

I'll check for EasyRPG but your clone seemed to be much more interesting to me since I just learnt lua some weeks ago.

EDIT : The game is awesome but the controls are messy for jumps.

I won't use anything from AM2R because of what I've seen from the Creator's Blog - He seems to create many assets (Music, Sprites, etc) by himself and I don't want to rip from his Project. AM2R's assets are gorgeous, but sadly not made by me :) I use Sprites publicly released for usage which I edit
Then you can rename this to "AM2R 3D" or something like that and give credits to the original dev of the project, but if you want to make your own project It's ok, It's only a suggestion.

Keep up the good work!!! :yay3ds:

Watching this thread.

Watch as in a few days, this project will be leaked out of the site and the video game media reports about it.

Be very careful.

Normally I'd agree with you on this, but the requirement of having a console that's capable of running homebrew might push it into enough obscurity that it'll be safe (at least for a while)

Voting No because the Metroid games are Grade-A garbage and would rather play literally anything else

This looks nice.
I have not yet have time to play this, but in general, are you using like, zero mission controls and physics, or will you stick to metroid 2s hobbled controls instead?
