Hi Jayro, I have a question, I would appreciate if you can answer, thank you.
--
"Why should MediCat USB be formatted as NTFS File system?
Ventoy formats it as exFAT, and exFAT is a newer generation system."
--
That's what I'm wondering
My language is a bit bad, sorry for that, but I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to say, I love and appreciate your work, I hope you reach better places, this software you created is very useful for me, you made my work very easy, thank you very much for everything, take it easy, have a nice day, I wish you a good day look very well.

NTFS is known to be more reliable. NTFS also supports journaling so it can recover from crashes and power loss without losing or corrupting data. I have my medicat stick set up as per instructions with NTFS and it's perfect, stable and compatible with everything I need to use it on :)

It uses NTFS for reliability and compatibility of booting older ISO images. Not everything works on a exFAT formatted drive.

Hi! Using exFAT on 4 pen-drives and 1TB PCIE SSD connected through portable USB 3.1gen2 case since last year and got no problems at all. Can You send me information which tools or parts of Ur fantastic set do not work so I can verify if is necessary to switch to NTFS ?

It's mostly the older BIOS-only ISOs that really have a fuss with it.

The Clonezilla app is included within Parted Magic, which is on MediCat USB. and yes, there's a few GRUB repair discs on here too under the "Boot Repair" menu.

Okay. Perhaps it will be a good idea to have a look at -f-c-p-o-r-t-a-b-l-e-s-.-c-o-m to find additional stuff.
Discard "-" and enjoy. Because I am a Newcomer I have some restrictions for the first posts...

You have to run the Ventoy installer on the USB first.

I've had issues running several apps in Mini 10 since the most recent update. R-Drive Image in particular gives me the error "0x8007007e The specified module could not be found" while specifying no module and generating no log to debug with.

I've tried on a freshly formatted USB drive with a brand new copy of Medicat several times with no luck.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
