giantpune...

You... are absolutely excellent!!

This method is so damn simple, it is funny!

But it went over EVERYBODY'S heads, except for yours of course giantpune!

I just cannot get over how simple and awesome this is, and why nobody thought of it until you did.
It is just damn awesome!
I felt stupid reading it, due to it's simplicity and how I never thought of this! That makes me LMAO!
I love this! it is awesome and funny!

Great work as always giantpune!

Mario Kart does indeed pwn!

Coincidentially, I bought a small pack of DVD+R DL discs eariler today, before even checking gbatemp!
...kindof freaky.
EDIT: Just realized that this post is post 777 for my gbatemp account!
...even more freaky, especially if you do not believe in coincidences...
...whoa...

@WiiCrazy:
It should work fine with a Korean game (providing the Korean Wii has the IOS that the "exploited" game needs installed on it), such as Mario Kart KOR, since the Korean Common key would only be used when the Wii is using the Korean partition.

I would test this on my KOR Wii, but the only KOR games I have are Zelda: Twilight Princess and Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Can someone post the youtube link (and not embedd the video) so i can try using hidemyass because it shows me that the content of this video is not available in my country (germany).

You can easily get that by clicking the youtube icon on the bottom right btw.

Pune, thank you!

Really nice work... hmm I wonder if you can do the same to Wiifit or Raving Rabbids

This is genius. How has no one thought of this before
I'm not going to claim I would have thought of this (because I wouldn't have), but any exploit that requires a modchip probably would have been written off by most people in the hacking scene.

Was there a safe 4.3 updater to get a 4.3 with homebrew capabilities from 4.2K or 4.2J?

Wii Fit is probably the best game do do the exploit with.

This should do the trick on 003`s korean wiis + modchip to repair them, and be a awesome finding! ... But we need to see if Mario Kart KOR can boot this way

003 bricked wiis are NTSC-J, NTSC-U or PAL... A wii with korean menu doesn't get bricked with 003...

Does this make the Mario Kart Wii DVD bigger that it already is, and how do u add the Exploit game partition 2 this?? lol

So transferring the primary data partition from one game into the second data partition on the other game doesn't re-sign anything? That's weird.

Awesome work! One question: How does this not require the trucha bug? I thought you couldn't modify any data of a Wii game without trucha signing it. Oh yeah, this seems like a lot of work just to modify JPN and KOR Wiis. Couldn't this also be used to make a multi-game Wii disc?

edit:
AFAIK,
the only requirement is the ability to play backup discs (modchip/darkcorp on non-d3-2 drive)

I dunno, I just figured that when you alter the contents of a disc image that would change the signing tree around.

only the individual partitions are signed. the partition table isn't.

Perhaps the dvd5 ssbb would load, or perhaps it would have the same issue as autoboot ssbb.

What happens is you put an update partition in partition #3? Say the 4.2k update partition, perhaps it would load the partition and update the SM v480/881/482 to v486 and fix the 003 error.
