i agree i dont know why colors were washed out
Like I said, it was because the old original GBA didn't have a backlight. They had to brighten the games to make it easier to view. But they should have always had a setting to change it back to the original in case you had good lighting.

this is fucking epic. i should play those games again

May I say that not only is it great to see you here, but I also love you.....in a appreciative and non-gay way. If you feel that this topic is annoying though, tell Toni Plutonij or another mod to lock this and start your own. I think your hacks are really awesome!

If that wasn't a playful comment of yours, I'm sorry I made this topic and I'll request a lock immediately. I assure you this topic was meant to praise you and your work and there was no offense intended. I only made it because you weren't a member here and it deserved attention.

No, I was joking.

I was wondering why everyone stopped talking in the other thread, it's because they're all chatting away over here instead.

Cool then, glad I didn't offend you!

I created this topic to actually drum up support and spread the word of the hacks. I think people stopped posting on Romhacking because randomly bumping threads for no reason is against their rules. And maybe because no more was said of the hacks themselves.

Have you made any more progress on the SNES ports lately? If you have, you can bump your own thread there legally and everyone will notice it again.

I was starting to fix Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, but it's a little bit wonky (some of the layers are in the wrong order, all of the sound effects are sped up, no music), and the SNES version that it's based on was the worst version of the game anyway. The bosses don't even have life meters >_<

That, and I couldn't find any of the sprite palettes anywhere.

I should probably get back to work on SMB2, I was kind of sick of it for a while.

I see. That's pretty neat, though I will say that the GBA version of Pitfall Mayan Adventure wasn't very good. Like Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 on GBA, the physics were all messed up. EWJ 1, 2, and Pitfall all felt less like ports and more like half assed retoolings that were only partially done. At least all 3 of these games work decently in JenesisDS, so you can play them on your DS. Earthworm Jim SNES even works almost perfectly on SnemulDS!

Thanks for telling me about it! You should bump your old thread at romhacking to drum up some new hype.

There's definitely some titles out there that could use a colour fix, but really don't deserve it.

Here one that did: ROCK AND ROLL RACING!

Everything should be fixed, hope someone can take the time to test it out for me

I'm also slowly working through The Lost Vikings and Blackthorne. LV has some weirdness in the textboxes, where the colour of the box is located before the text that's contained in it, and updates the palette as it goes along. I fixed it for any dialogue at the end of a level, but can't find the data for colour of dialogue at the start of a level. Very weird...

Blackthorne has some animated background palettes that I can't find. In the jungle areas, there's a background of rain and lightning, that I can't seem to find, even though I was SURE that I had found it. Found some colour data that looked exactly like a scrolling palette that would flash white from purple if it kept swapping, but changing it didn't work.

Hey thanks! It'll probably take me a while to fix this and LV, seeing as though I have to play through the games in their entirety to see everything... and Blackthorne to me, was always a really frigging hard game.

Glad to hear you're still working on The Lost Vikings. Despite being a bit inferior to the original versions (no passwords means no replaying favourite levels), it's still one of my favourite games. Nice to see it's still getting some love.
