Gaming Mario party 8 pulled from uk shops

Nintendo has pulled Mario party 8 from UK retail outlets apprently (unconfirmed) because a blue wizard shouts ""Magikoopa magic! Turn the train spastic! Make this ticket tragic!"

BTW - just wanted to say I'm not LOLing at the word used there as it's pretty derogatory - but really at the translator that managed to let this slip.

All this comes just weeks after the word 'spastic' was allegedly used in a derogatory way in another game, this time for the Nintendo DS.

Ubisoft's Mind Quiz game was last month also said to display the words "super spastic" if players fell below a certain score. The game was later withdrawn pending a fix.

So that's why people kept saying that word in the chat box the other day.

How retarded. There's nothing derogatory about the word "spastic." People need to develop thicker skins.

I read about this in n*Revolution's review of the game last week and they too found it odd that he would shout such a thing. Funny thing that it was eventually pulled because of it
