Hardware Mario Kart Wii Update [Still 3.1U]?

i updated via Mario Kart Wii and it updated succesfully, i was able to play the game.
but when i checked the Wii Settings it still stated 3.1U..
any suggestions? i can't put in SSBB because i might damage the wii or something..

some of the updates are for making some of the games work..replacing old IOS files.

already did some researching..SSBB working fine now..
i learned that it is a 3.1x_v3 update..while Mario Kart is 3.1x_v2...

good thing i have both games..

I was running 3.1U and it was running every game just fine but I decided to use the downgrader CD to update to 3.2U and then Wario Land Shake It! told me that it needed to install an update before I could play the game. It did the update and it stayed at 3.2U and the game played after.

I'm not sure what kind of updates some games install but not all updates will upgrade the firmware I guess.

yup, some games just change the version of the firmware you have..
AFAIK:
SMG= 3.1x_v1
Mario Kart= 3.1x_v2
SSBB= 3.1x_v3
