It has that twist that's almost a loop. Lol Is there any tracks with a true loop?

Like the 8 too and it fits. Wonder if the next one will simply be called 9. Is one of the dlc your new fav vs the old tracks?

8 fits perfect with the hover mode so yeah, agreed! Maybe it'll be the last number, or maybe they'll do a Windows and jump to 10, just because 7-8-*lets himself out*

The twist almost counts as a loop yes, but then the first Mute City tracks on F-Zero X & GX had the iconic simple loop so it would've been nice... hardly missed though, certainly not when you're playing it (track has masses of speed boosts by the way)

New fave track? Well yeah, the Dragon one certainly takes that title at the moment ......but only coz it's new perhaps. You'll probably have to come back with the same question in 3 months time to see if they really do beat out the likes of Cloudtop Cruise, Mount Wario et al...;)

Mute City is a boosters dream! Dragon Driftway is a bit tricky need more practice on that one, the new rainbow road is surprisingly easy if you don't get hit by the thwomps. most of the new tracks are pretty easy except for the new yoshi track you better have your drifting skills perfected for that one!

I found Yoshi circuit easier than the original on DD, drifting is a basic skill you need in order to play 100cc and 150cc at all.
Wario's goldmine is easier than ever, I hated it on Wii for all the trololols I received there, but now is a good track.

I Have measured the upload bandwidth mario kart 8 uses in a 12 player race.
During the race it uses 40-60kb/s. on the pre-race screen its about 10kb/s (all is kilobytes/sec)
that is why there is lag. a typical 6mb dsl connection only can do about 50kb/sec.
Why does the game so much upload? only thing i can think of is that you are sending out your position/item data to 11 other players.I can play golden eye 007 wii online with 4 friends using 4 wiis and no lag. I have also ran a Phantasy star online server with 15 players connected and there was no issues.
40-60 seems like alot of bandwidth for mario kart 8.

I also measured Monster Hunter 3 ults speeds. when in a 4 player room fighting a monster it maxes at 9kb/sec.

The method i used to measure the bandwidth was to tunnel it though my laptop. Direct wired connection from laptop to wii U. Only measured bandwidth on wired connection. the 40-60 is confirmed everytime.

For those that have lag what is your upload in kilobytes/sec?

Bought the DLC pack yesterday and it's so damn good for starters the DS Kart with the right wheels actually feels fast and I swapped from always choosing my Mii to Link though I have to say that those "HA YAA" voice clips of Link are getting really old and repetitive, Nintendo.

It's time to give Link a voice of his own.

I thought it was great as well, but the balance of content is really weird.

I mean, the first pack is called Mario Kart 8 × The Legend of Zelda, yet there's just Link to represent the series out of the 3 new characters. The other two are Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach, both which feel very out of place given that Mario and Peach already have various forms (Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Peach). Out of 4 new vehicles we get the Master Cycle that's related to the Zelda universe (though its debut happened through this very DLC) with one of the vehicles coming from F-Zero (Blue Falcon). Lastly, out of 8 new tracks, only one is Zelda themed. It's very well made, I love the rupees in place of coins, etc., but again the balance of content seems off.

At least with the second pack (Mario Kart 8 × Animal Crossing) there's going to be both Villager and Isabelle to play with. The third new character is Dry Bowser (again, what were they thinking?) and it remains to be seen just how much of the content will be related to Animal Crossing. I was kinda hoping to get to play as Tom Nook... :( At the same time, I'm hopeful that Nintendo will give us a few new surprises as well, like the F-Zero and Excitebike tracks in the first pack.

All said and done, I believe Nintendo has made some great DLC for Mario Kart 8.

They could've included the golden kart, golden wheels and golden glider because it takes frickin' 10,000 coins to acquire it and I've only got like 3k!

Screw it! I prefer the B-Dasher or one of the bikes anyway. ^_^

I unlocked that in like 2 weeks. :tpi:
It pays to have sisters and friends who stay over playing the game for you on your profile... ;)

Played Mario Kart 8 DLC #1 now for about 20hrs and I've gotten bored of it so I'll just play it again after Nintendo releases DLC #2.

This is one of Mario Kart 8's biggest flaws and a shame really because it's a great game if only it had tons of content.
