Ohh. This is the way I see it.
Look at your calender
If your calender says 19th May 2012
Its mario kart day until it doesnt.
Easy to understand?

Icey May 19th for me is 18th for Americans
Too bad hombre.
Its the only way to ensure everyone has a 24hr period.
If i actually make times, it will be biased and that bias will obviously favour me and europe,
See where im going? This is why i chose weekends and holidays, so people can use the whole day effectively

It's that simple:
Based on Amsterdam Time, East Americans go into Midnight at 6 AM, and West America at 9 AM.
Then they wake up around 12 PM, and 14 PM. (Based on MarioWiki.)

As for Australia, when I'm back from work (5 PM), Australia has Midnight around that time, and wake up again at 10 PM. (Based on Vooks.net.)

Edit:
You can also use this one:

Don't worry, most of Europe has the same Time Zone, because of the size.
But the UK (United Kingdom) is 1 hour behind us, on Main Europe.

So, I know Nintendo said mid May for the MK7 update, but they usually fall behind. Are you just guessing they'll put the update out this Thursday or something? It's not a big deal but I'd prefer to play after the update goes live. (And you could put my on the front post, as my Mii's name is Presto, but I'm guessing most people will be able to guess that)

I chose the most mid-may thing i could think of without it mixing up with my final exams,
If the update is after 19th, there can always be another day made to celebrate it.

Okay so the game is patched and the plans to take the family on a trip this weekend got dashed, so I'll definitely be showing up to race a few hours. Watch out for a racer named "Hana" driving a Yoshi/Zucchini/Wood wheels combo - he's a 44yo geezer and he'll be jacked up on whiskey and drivin' like a fool.
